And I still can't understand anything about it. Is that a bearded Hal Jordan to the left and what looks to be Kyle Rayner to the right?

I think the guy to the left is John Stewart.

Nah, he definitely looks Caucasian. As best as I can tell it's a bearded maskless Hal, and I have no clue about the other(s).

It's hard to make out what is going on in that concept art. I can't believe there are no better pictures of it anywhere.

Not gonna lie, I thought maybe the JL special on the CW would drop surprise casting announcements.

The reason this film is a "lethal weapon" John Stewart and Hal Jordan movie is because they are too scared to just man up and make a solo John Stewart movie and make Stewart the Green Lantern of the live-action movie.

They don't have to, they have an entire Corps to showcase, which judging by the Justice League special, is exactly what's going to happen.

See usually I am with TheVileOne in telling it like it is no matter how much it annoys fans and maybe I'll change my mind and agree with him in the future when I think about it more but right now I don't think the buddy cop idea is because they are afraid to put Stewart out in front. I think that WB are afraid of the GL IP period after that mega flop movie in 2011. With BvS, Suicide Squad and Justice League they seem to be all about team ups now.

Personally I am cool with the Green Lantern Corps idea because all GL fans get what they want. The Hal fans get Hal and the JS fans get him.

It's Warner Bumbles' fault that they didn't get what they wanted from that film. I'm hopeful that the focus will actually be on the Corps this time, and not another forced love story to appeal to marginal fans. If WB is true to what has sustained GL since 1959, they'll be plenty of ticket buyers. If Warner tries too hard to "Hollywoodize" GL again, bad things will happen.

Lantern Venom I really hope that you aren't responding to me because you are on my ignore list and have been for months. A girl can only take so many painfully embarrassing childish posts.

So why Hal Jordan? They did a Hal Jordan film that bombed. Why not Stewart and the rest of the Corps? Why not Stewart and Katma Tui or Stewart and Kilowog?

Team-up movies sell. That's all there is to it. Like Lantern Venom said, WB put themselves into this situation so they have noone else to blame for their incompetent handling of the material.

And I agree with you, the GL brand is what they take it slow with, not just Jordan or Stewart. Seems like they realized that this time they need to have an actual concept of what kind of movie they are doing, before they start shooting. The idea that WB don't have the courage to make a John Stewart movie makes little sense to me. According to some people here Hal Jordan is the one whose reputation was tarnished by the 2011 movie. If that's true, why wouldn't WB just replace him with a different Lantern and move on? Maybe because they know they effed up with the way they presented the property itself, not just the Hal character. But yeah, it is the brand name they are being cautious about, not just the specific characters.

Maybe due to the fact that the movie didn't exactly bomb because of using Hal Jordan?

Eh, I didn't think it was out of the realm of possibility.
It would have been awesome, I'll say that much. I do look forward to the Stewart and Jordan casting announcement. I still think Hal will show up before 2020.

I know Tyrese Gibson's been banging the drum to play Stewart. I can't tell if that'd be any good or not.

And the way the DC presentation in that TV special went about made it seem so. Even though there wasn't any casting announcements and GL wasn't featured on the concept art for the Justice League, almost every image of the team they showed from the comics, had Hal on it. Geoff Johns specifically mentioned Hal when he was talking about the founding members from the comics too, so I think there were a lot of hints in that TV special towards GL's potential involvement in the movie.

When an actor acts as thirsty for a role as he has, I'd be willing to bet it's because he isn't even in the running.

I noticed the Manhunters were some of the concept art (or maybe just the chosen comic art). I have to say if you have a threat that needs the entire Corp then the Manhunters are a great choice. I'm definitely on board with the Manhunters!

Yeah, it was comic art. Ivan Reis is my favorite GL artist so that was instantly recognizable to me.

Notice Guy in the background? Hmm. :sus
