Ed Norton for Sinestro. I want him back in a CBM and I want him as a bad guy. Plus he doesn't look outright evil, which I think could serve the role depending on where they pick up with him.

I really like that choice. I haven't thought of or seen it before. Brilliant!

Ed Norton's frame and overall look would be perfect for Sinestro, plus he is a great actor. I would also get some enjoyment from a former hulk actor becoming a DC villain.

It won't happen. WB is only interesting in poaching former Spider-Man actors from Marvel. They're not interested in former Hulk actors.

Look for announcements that Topher Grace has been cast as Hal Jordan and Alfred Molina has been cast as Sinestro any day now. :)

A fat Sinestro? He's mastered fear, but not the Nutrisystem.

Fair point. Molina can be Kilowog, Topher can be Guy and James Franco can be Hal. After all, he was photographed holding a Green Lantern comic a while back or something so that means he's in the movie. :D

I love DC . It's the only superhero movie world for me. I don't read comics, though. I DO think it would be safer for DC to drop him from the justice league. But maybe someone will blend him in nice and knock it out of the park.

Don't even joke about something like that.

If Wonder Woman can be short and skinny, I don't see why we can't have a Sinestro sans six-pack abs.

5'11 isn't short. And Wonder Woman isn't built like Ronda Roussey RL She-Hulk.

Gal is 5'9", not 5'11", and my point is that WB isn't exactly stringent on the movie characters being 100 percent comic-accurate in appearance.

I saw someone posting on twitter that WB apparently went through the trouble of blurring GL out in the BvS special features. This is honestly disturbing to me.

To be fair the entire background is blurred to put the focus on the heroes related to the upcoming JL movie, or the ones in BvS.

I imagine any other characters in the back would have been blurred out too.

This is the original panel.

Whatever their reason is, I think it's asinine that they put him even further in background, cropped half of his body and blurred him out. If they didn't want to show him, or as you say if they wanted to emphasize on the team featured in BvS/JL, they could show a panel that simply doesn't feature GL.

...However, he is not the only one whose name is floating around cyberspace. Spider-Man director Sam Raimi is said to be up for Dwayne Johnson’s Shazam and George Miller is listed as directing a New Gods movie. Of course, the list doesn’t end there. We also have Gravity’s Alfonso Cuaron, who is said to be in talks for the Green Lantern Corps movie and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins may be directing Justice League 2...
Original source: Reddit by way of 4han.

I wouldn't put much stock in anything from 4chan or Reddit.
I don't think Studios enter talks with directors for a movie 4 years away.

Anyways with Geoff Johns in considerably more power at WB, helping manage the DC slate, do you think chances are higher for GL to show up in an actual main character role in JL 2.

Previously when Roven/Snyder where in charge they both had doubts that GL would show up in JL 2. But Roven is being slowly phased out, due to age. And I got a hunch Snyder won't be showing up for JL 2.

Yes, but we'll either be getting just Hal or just John.

The GLC solos will have all the different Corps, Guardians, Larfleeze, supporting cast ect. And it will be set in space.

Not expecting the GL mythology to crossover with the JL. I wouldn't mind it if they did. But it makes sense for the the sake of creative freedom.

Think GotG and the MCU. They're definitely a part of it, but they're in their own lane doing their own thing.

Not necessarily. I assume they are smart enough to know that if they show only one of them in Justice League, it would seem like they are favoring him over the other one. That's not cool when you're prepping a team-up GL movie afterwards. If one of them shows up earlier on, then GLC would seem like "the Justice League guy and his partner". I'm not sure they would be willing to give people that notion, especially if Stewart is the one showing up later on. Either bring them both in Justice League, or neither one.

I have no vested interest in either Hal or John. I like both these characters, but I'd rather have one GL than none.

Of course something is better than nothing, but I'm thinking how this can affect people's perception for GLC in the long run.

Two GLs on the Justice League is dumb, just do one so they can actually get character development

And yes I know there are two GLs in the brand new Justice League comics, doesn't change the fact that the Justice League has traditionally had a single GL for the vast majority of the time

Traditions are made to be broken. :o

That being said, this early on in the JL's film career, I do think it's best to keep it at one GL.

Do a trilogy!

Movie 1: combination of Green Lantern First Flight and Sinestro Corps War. Hal, John and Guy would be the main characters. After Sinestro's defeat near the very end of the movie, Hal would become infected by Parallax. The entity would escape from its containment within a cracked Yellow Power Battery. The end of the movie would tease Hal's corruption.

The next movie would essentially be an adaptation of Emerald Twilight. It'd introduce Kyle Rayner and would feature Parallax/Hal as the villain. Hal would be separated from Parallax at the end of the movie.

The third and final movie would be inspired by Rebirth and Blackest Night. We would see Hal Jordan readjusting and redeeming himself after being infected by Parallax. Hal ultimately redeems himself during the War of Light. This would be a culmination of the Blackest Night storyline that would have been slowly developed over the course of the three films. The first installments of the trilogy would provide introductions to Atrocitus, Larfleeze, Star Sapphire, Saint Walker and the Blue Lanterns. I think those elements could be introduced and sprinkled throughout the trilogy without things feeling crammed or forced.

Geoff Johns would ideally write the entire trilogy

Green Lantern First Flight did not have good reviews. It sounds like Sinestro will be in it, though along with other GL's. I can see where they are treating the franchise with kid gloves since its first introduction film was critically panned and did not meet expectations at the box office.

It wouldn't have made any difference if Green Lantern was in Justice League. The movie will sell because it's "Justice League", Green Lantern wouldn't have cost them any tickets sales just because there was a bad GL movie 6 years prior. I doubt excluding him from the JL movie and making him look second class, would do him a lot of favors in the long run.
