I am gearing up for when Blackest Night comes out in TPB.

But til then. Any suggestions of what else I should look into?

"Rage of the Red Lantern"
and
"Sins of the Star Saphire"
are both arcs dealing with the War of Light.

Thanks I got "Rage" today and I will look for Star Saphire.
I am new to The Lantern Threads.
Thanks man.

Been doing some Volume 3 reading lately... Reading Marz last run now.

Screw you Jade, it still hurts!

But also it's reminded me how much I really miss Kyle solo book and mainly I miss constructs. It's such a creative and unique thing for Green Lantern and now they all just seem to shoot laser beams. Sucks :(

I can't find a hardcover version of Sins of the Star Saphires...any one have any leads?

When that site is funny, it's damn funny. When it's not, it's damn not.

DCU IN 2010: TOMASI EXTENDS EXCLUSIVE WITH DC

Talk about a no-brainer, huh?

When something works, it works. And that’s the case with BLACKEST NIGHT and the two titles directly linking to it, GREEN LANTERN and GREEN LANTERN CORPS (that’s the cover to GLC #45 above). So it makes perfect sense to announce that one of the architects of this year’s BRIGHTEST DAY event, Peter Tomasi, will be sticking around the DCU for a couple more years.

So, in addition to plugging away on an epic GLC run, Tomasi will be pairing up with Johns to grapple with the post-BLACKEST NIGHT DCU. What say you, Pete?

“I’m excited to be a part of all the great stuff that’s happening here at DC Comics. I love working on these iconic characters, and there’s so many incredible stories coming down the pike that it’s truly gonna be a helluva ride. With BRIGHTEST DAY and the GREEN LANTERN franchise on my things to do list, along with several other amazing projects in the works, continuing to make DC — which has given me the ability to do smaller personal projects like LIGHT BRIGADE and THE MIGHTY to broader epics like GLC BLACKEST NIGHT and BRIGHTEST DAY — my exclusive home was an easy choice to make.”

And we’re glad to have you.

Awesome. Tomasi is hands down my favorite writer. His Dark Adam mini was good, his Nightwing arcs were among the best of the entire series, his GLC is fun to read, and totally ****. Oh, and have you read The Mighty? Cause if you haven't, you should. It's only 12 issues, and the whole thing is pretty awesome (starts a bit slow though). Anyway, heres the cover to GLC 46.

He wasn't an exclusive? Even after being on their books as an editor. That's odd. Guess DC didn't have that much faith he would sell as a writer.

Well it says extends so i would think they just re-signed him.

His Nightwing didn't sell well, neither did his Dark Adam mini so I guess it's understandable.

I think his GLC started at a high point for the series and has been fluxuating up and down since then but I haven't really kept up with it much.

Yeah. ****ing Dark Reign and it's adding "Dark" to the begining of everything.

Surprising that Guy can still focus enough through all the rage to make constructs. Should be interesting to see how the others bring him back.

Fight until it's just down to Kyle/Guy.

Then Kyle will be like "GUY NO! DONT YOU SEE THAT THIS IS WRONG! WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER! I LOVE YOU MAN!"

Kyle Rayner of Earth. You have great great love in your heart. Welcome to the Star Saphires!

Okay I'm not even kidding anymore, that man's chin is looking more and more like gonads with each passing panel.

Can someone help me out?

Between Green Lantern Corps and Green Lantern, which is the better title? Who are the central characters in both? I assume Hal in Green Lantern, but the solicitations show otherwise as of late.

Those solicitations lie like filthy dogs. Hal has never appeared in GLC.

As for which one to get, it honestly, totally depends on what you want to read about. Green Lantern Corps is all about the Green Lantern Corps as a corps; it's an ensemble book and focuses a lot on more on, well, every single Green Lantern that's not Hal or John. It's about the adventures of the newcomers like Soranik Natu and Sodomy Yat, as well as longtime veterans like Kilowog and Arisia. It used to be much more of a Guy Gardner series since he was the most well-known character on the book, but Kyle Rayner joined the cast at the end of the Sinestro Corps War event and now it's more or less "their" series.

Green Lantern is Hal's solo series, with John Stewart as an occasional guest-star. (Guy appeared sometimes as well, near the beginning) It's about Hal Jordan punching things. That's...well, that's it really, what more to say? If you like Hal Jordan at all, you'll probably enjoy this book. It's fairly straightforward and quite easy to get into; almost any arc is a decent jumping-on point. It also has the distinction of having more to do with Blackest Night; most of the setup for BN occurred in this book, with several exceptions that happened in GLC. Consult this sexy sticky for more info on that.

I personally, vastly prefer GLC to the point that it is my single favorite series on the shelves. I find it incredibly well-written and has gotten me to care about all these characters that aren't famous or mainstream or anything, but no less fun to read about. But, again, it's completely up to what you personally are interested in, because it's not like how Detective Comics and Batman are both about Batman, just written differently by different people. GL and GLC are about completely different characters literally set in different corners of the universe, despite the fact that they're all Green Lanterns.

Honestly, why not get both? Getting one doesn't preclude getting the other, just because they're both about the Green Lantern corner of the DCU. Especially considering the fact that the two series are probably going to cross over more often once the Brightest Day series starts, since BD is co-written by the guys who write GL and GLC.

Director Martin Campbell on GREEN LANTERN; Says it’s More IRON MAN Than BATMAN BEGINS and More!

“It will be much more in the tone of Iron Man. It’s got to be. Certainly not Batman Begins, which is a pretty dark movie. No, he’s the Hal Jordan character who’s the sort of shoot from the hip, irresponsible kind of cocky test pilot if you will. In fact, the character seems to be the least likely to be chosen as Green Lantern. Well, of course that’s the fun of it. So no, it’ll be much more like Iron Man. So it’ll have one foot in reality if you see what I mean.”
