It makes zero sense for Guy Gardner to be a Trekkie.

Peter J Tomasi also made Two-Face into a trekkie. Infact Two-Face outright killed a person for not being a trekkie.

Really????

Why???

I have a friend that was the son of an alcoholic, was a troubled kid when growing up,whos older brother was a cop that straighten him out.

He works as a counselor at a juvenile center and a football coach to teens.

And hes a trekie........just like Guy.

Well good for you YENALED! Jeez people these days.....

I think it is not a question of making sense or not. I just think it is just fanboy reference from the writer. People can not avoid to put their favorite lines everywhere these days. Guy says it like people are going to say "oh, right good plan mate, because-I-perfectly-know-what-you-are-talking-about". That is poor IMO.
But then, I have no problem in itself with Guy being fan of Star trek.

Probably the latter, being a minor Trekkie myself. Guy just reminds me of my brother I suppose, and that's about as far from Trekkie as you can get.

There are plenty of athletic people who dig geeky stuff. Plus, as noted, Guy's father was an abusive dick, so he could've logically escaped that abuse in the world of television--especially fantastical science fiction like the original Star Trek. Remember, the original Trek was all cowboy heroics and banging hot green ****s. The sedate, cerebral tone didn't creep into the series until TNG (or, if you want to get technical, maybe Stark Trek: The Motion Picture).

Too bad Gleason is leaving GLC.

Yeah, I'll miss his art. I love his Kilowog, though, so it's nice that he's just moving over to Emerald Warriors with Tomasi. Did they mention who's taking over GLC after he goes?

The writer of REBELS and the new guy who drew Blackest Night: Batman, Ardian Syaf.

Wasn't the original Trek one of those things that everybody watched? If Guy was a kid in the 60s then I'm sure he would have watched it growing up.

I guess he is meant to have been a kid in the 60s now?

I really am a double poster.

Who's on that, then? I thought he and Tomasi were moving as a package deal.

after the first "wow & damned & wow again" of the last BN issue,I really do not get what Sinestro has in mind. If I follow correctly, he was angry at ganthet, because the guardians make people suffer or die or fall, etc... just to be sure than THEIR order would prevail, right? And in doing so, they "killed" (in a way Abin Sur) .... but .... call me stupid, but isn't that what Sinestro himself was doing on his planet? Ruling everything like a dictator and achieving his ends by any means? If it meant killing someone in the process, he would, wouldn't he?
When I read that, I got lost. I do not get exactly what Sinestro want.
