cause grindhouse can have a 8.5/10

wait! There's a difference between the entire package that is Grindhouse and the individual Death Proof movie. If I had to rate Grindhouse as a whole I would have given it a 8.5/10. But thats not what I would have given Death Proof alone!

I ment Death Proof

Grindhouse as a whole is one of the best movie going experiences I have ever been at

granted i didn't see some of my favorite movies in theaters like Kill Bill, and Evil Dead 2, Star Wars, and Halloween, but it still was better in the theaters then almost everything else I have seen, I would venture a very high 9 to be honest, with Planet terror getting like a 9.5 or something like that.

Yeah, the overall package was fantastic! But if you split the films Planet Terror is definitly better!

How many people walked out of the theaters where u saw the films?

A lot walked out after Planet Terror...which sucks for the them.

Some one should merge this thread with the other one

It seems Tarantino hating is becoming trendy these days.

It really is. I hate those people who say enjoying blank is sucking blanks cock.

I will agree that Death Proof is QT's worst movie (never saw Jackie Brown though), but it was still enjoyable. Me enjoying this is not me sucking QT's cock. Death Proof had a flawed second half, but an awesome start. I also wasn't disappointed it was his worst movie. This movie is about what I expected it to be. I never thought it would be better than his previous films.

My video cut out half way through Jackie Brown and I wasn't even interested in Wikipeding it to find out how it ended... never was ever into that one for the slightest minute... death proof was bad... very bad... nough said... what the heck was he thinking??? Pulp fiction and Dogs and Bill had some interesting dialogue... this was just utter crap to fill up screen time... and this was supposed to be a slasher flick? Ya maybe for the slow mo death scene that was about 5 seconds... Cmoooooooon.... Tarantino please don't put out crap like this again... Inglorious Bastards next or don't bother making another movie... especially if its going to be some hapass dialouge...

Loved Grindhouse. "Planet Terror" was just a fun ride and I had a blast. The audience was into everything that was happening in the film and it was just glorious. Pretty much what I expected from Robert Rodriguez. I enjoyed the characters, especially El Wray. He was badass and so was Cherry Darling. I also enjoyed seeing Tom Savini and Bruce Willis. It was just a fun little film. The gore was wonderful and the effects were very nicely done. Now onto "Death Proof". I loved it. The music used was brilliant, as is with all Tarantino's films. Loved how the first 4 girls were set up and I really enjoyed the conversations they were having. Kurt Russell was excellent in the bar scenes and was very creepy when he was trying to get his lap dance from Butterfly. It was great how you disposed of them. I also loved how the second batch of girls was something Stuntman Mike had never encountered before. He was used to preying on women and disposing of them very easily. But these girls weren't taking his crap and I enjoyed that aspect of the film. I especially loved how he was acting like a whiney ***** when they went after him. A nice little twist in my opinion. And the ending was great and got a great ovation from the audience. I know there are a lot of people who thought Death Proof was too talky and had uninteresting conversations, and I can understand that. But I thought it was very entertaining. But I do agree that this has been Tarantino's poorest effort compared to his other films, but that doesn't mean it was bad in my opinion. I thought it was great, but unfortunetly his other films are greater. One more thing about Death Proof. Zoe Bell was fantastic and I thought those car chase scenes were excellent and filmed beautifully.

The trailers on a whole were wonderful. "Machete" was great and I look forward to seeing the staright to DVD release of the film. I was little disappointed with "Werewolf Women of The SS", but it was still good. "Don't" was one of the most funniest things I have ever seen. Edgar Wright is turning into on my favorite directors, especially after watching the entire Spaced series. I'm really looking forward to Hot Fuzz. And Eli Roth's "Thanksgiving" was just fantastic. It got the most reaction out of the audience and had many great moments, especially the trampoline scene. Ok, so this post has gotten long enough. Thank you to anyone who took time to read it and I look forward to discussing this film more with many of you.

Planet Terror: 8/10
Death Proof: 9/10
Grindhouse: 9/10

I'm not a Tarantino fan in general, but other than maybe Kill Bill Volume 1 I think DP blows away his other films.

On the whole Grindhouse was a blast, one of the funnest movie experiences I've ever had. Liked Death Proof. Granted it starts off slow, but it's worth it in the end. Loved the girls turning the tables on Stuntman Mike, freaking badass.:word:

lol. I saw some people walk out of Death Proof.

I will agree that Death Proof is QT's worst movie

Thats the problem, man. Rodriguez gave fans what they wanted. And, Tarantino gave fans his worse movie ever. It shouldn't have been that way! I mean...had these two films been released individually I'm sure people wouldn't have made a big deal. But, after you have sat through an awesome Robert Rodriguez flick, seeing QT's worse just ends up disappointing you.

i don't think people understand that QT was putting out a grindhouse effort of a movie. If they would get that through their heads and realize what it's supposed to be, the reaction to death proof would be a little less rash than it has been.

i don't think people understand that QT made a weak movie. It is true that Grindhouse filmmakers didn't have the budget for an action-packed movie like Rodriguez's Planet Terror. HOWEVER, they did have the budget for fight scenes, sex, and nudity.

Go watch Coffy and Foxy Brown.

Exactly!! Can't you Death Proof nay-sayers get over it and come to grips with reality, c'mon! :whatever:

Death Proof may be Tarantino's weakest film in my opinion, but I think it's far from bad. I absolutely loved it and wasn't disappointed with it. Like I said in my review, it's a great movie but his other movies are just greater.

I really dislike how Weinstien is handling the "flop".

He's making it sound as if he has done something wrong - when it's the audience. He says it's the audience that doesn't get it - I think he's the one who doesn't get it.

Tarantino's idea of nudity is bare feet. . . . .mmmmm. . . .pinky toes!!

I will say this, both movies could have stood to have more chicks nuding up! Assuming both actresses were of legal age, it would have been nice to see the babysitters in Planet Terror topless.

I'm sure Rose McGowan is naked in that missing reel. But Tarantino could have given us some classic nudity. He had ATLEAST 8 super hot chicks in his movie. Why couldn't he have turned them into lesbians and have them f---ing in the beginning? :cmad:

And if Alexander taught us anything, it's that Rosario Dawson is not shy AT ALL!! Dammit, woman! She didn't nude up in Sin City, she didn't nude up in Death Proof! When will Rosario nude up again! I'm tired of watching for the 1hr and 15min mark in Alexander when it comes on cable! (did I just say that?)

lol :D

If Rosario, Zoe Bell, that black chick, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead had been lesbians in this movie I'm sure people would have liked it a lot more. :)

Did you think Planet Terror was RR's best movie? I didn't. PT was good, but From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin City, and Desperado were all better (can't comment on El Mariachi...didn't see it). It would have been harder for PT to be RR's worst movie, since he has done that Spy Kids crap and Once Upon a Time in Mexico before this. Both movies were about what I expected from them, so I was in no way disappointed with either.

Does no-one agree with me?

About the Weinstein's handling of Grindhouse underperforming at the box office? I do agree, the handling of it doesn't sound all that great. Splitting the films and re-releasing them, that's just a bad idea. They need to cut their losess and just make sure the DVD kicks all kinds of ass.

Did you think Planet Terror was RR's best movie?

No. I liked Desperado and Sin City a lot more. HOWEVER, Planet Terror is definitly better than Spy Kids Trilogy, Shark Boy & Lava Girl, The Faculty, and Once Upon A Time in Mexico.

This movie is going to be really misunderstood by the average movie going public.

sometimes we have to quote ourselves:woot: I called that months ago.

I know that the it's boxoffice take over the weekend doesn't mean it's dead...but it doesn't look good.
3 things that hurt this movie...running time...abstract factor...and a lack of marketing...up untill December I thought the movie was still just a rumor.
"I don't think people understood what we were doing. The audience didn't get the idea that it is two movies for the price of one. I don't understand the math, but I want to accommodate the audience."
-From Harvey Weinstein

I don't think this idea of splitting them is going to save it.
