USAToday gave 'Death Proof' 3 1/2 stars (out of 4)??? I'm confused, remember when we were all bashing it because it sucked compared to Planet Terror??

They were both good,The car chase scenes in Death Proof were amazing,some of the best I'd ever seen.The chick that gave the lapdance was my favorite,she was soooo hot.Glad I saw this film in the theater...didn't feel like it was 3 hours and 12 minutes long.

I wasn't a huge fan of Death Proof in the theaters, I think if I have to sit through the pointless conversation for 30 minutes of the movie it makes it worse

On DVD though...it's a whole new animal, I think it might be one of the best dvds ever, at least for my style of home video watching, which is I normally only watch half of the movie, while I do homework and talk online and stuff like that, so with Death Proof you can ignore the parts that are pointless, and the **** you watch is some of the coolest crap, and the most original kills (the montage death is so money) in all of movies

whatever dvd features it has, I still hate the idea of selling separate dvds for each movie. i would rather buy the dvd with both movies (plus the trailers), even if it might cost $30 or more. but oh well. i'm glad, i downloaded both movies for free already.

It's QT's take on the 70's movies where they all sit around and talk,they don't make films that way anymore.I don't mind seeing people sitting around talking as long as the dialoge is good.

In the theater your waiting for stuff to happen,
Yea though the dialogue like Pulp Fiction is kind of lost until you get to repeat viewings via DVD. Therin lies Quentin's charm

I don't think they were commenting on the film itself. They were asking how you enjoy a film while you "normally only watch half of the movie, while I do homework and talk online and stuff like that".

I get so annoyed when I watch a movie with someone like that. My mom does that. My sister-in-law is worse. She has to continue to comment and talk, and subsequently misses stuff..which makes her comment even more. These are the same people that ask "why did that happen?". I want to shout "If you had been paying attention you would know!"

But there are a lot of people like that...and what is funny is some of them have a huge DVD collections. They buy every new piece of crap that comes out because it is all the same to them...just background noise while they do other activities. I kind of feel sorry for people that don't have the ability to just sit there for a short time and let themselves be caught up in a movie.

I wrote a long review of the movie awhile back but basically, I absolutely hated Death Proof. Tarantino's dialogue was awful and did the worst thing excessive dialogue can do: not move the story along and not be memorable. Not to mention it spends 40 minutes on a group of unlikable, stuck up *******, concludes their story, then spends another hour on another group of unlikable ******* and spend more time talking and talking. It's 100 minutes of pointless talking and building to an overrated car chase.

In short, it is the most frustrating movie I've seen in a long time. But I loved Planet Terror

Most likely. I think that even though some people say they're boycotting the DVDs, they're still going to crack and buy Planet Terror since it was such a kickass movie.
