Now that Atwell is probably the talk of the town, i'm sure her agent is getting lots of call about her. I just hope she doesn't end up like Gemma Arteton, another nicely built, ample British actress, who ended starring in one crappy Hollywood movie after the other.

Well, Gemma had a brief role in QoS and played the love interest/goddess in CoT. I won't say she has been in nothing but bad movies, however, but she could've chose her roles more carefully.

But still, point taken. Although I'd say the chick in Blade 1 is really never an ingenue(love interest). There's really never any romance between her and Blade.

so, I almost wish they wouldn't follow comic lore too closely and bring Peggy into modern day with Cap...but then that would ruin the chance for Cap to meet her niece. :P

The chick in Blade 2(from what I can remember) is more in the line like saying Catwoman is an ingenue in Batman Returns or Elektra in DD. She's not. She doesn't fit the profile like Vicky Vale/Pepper Potts/Lois Lane/MJ Watson/Betty Ross/etc. did. Peggy Carter for the most part does belong with the latter, yet she's still a badass.

Sin City isn't a superhero movie.

Hellboy & Watchmen are the flip side of Blade 2 & Batman Returns. The women are actual heroes with abilities/costumes in that.

Same reason I don't consider Sue Storm an ingenue nor characters like Jean Grey/Storm/Rogue/etc. They're full on heroic participants.

I want nothing more than for Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell to get married and fill the world with their beautiful...beautiful offspring.

Or at the very least...I want her as Sharon. Atwell's chemistry with Evans was so perfect that it's going to be hard to see his Steve Roger's with anyone else...ESPECIALLY Peggy's niece!

I see, I was under the impression that the term simply referred to the love interest that would be saved in the production. Peggy Carter would not qualify as a costumed participant by your standards though?

Well I was refering to ingenue in the traditional superhero movie, the ultimate prototype of which is Lois Lane. Sorry I didn't clarify.

Once you give them powers/costume and/or both, the dynamic has been changed. So Peggy to me remains in the classic model for a superhero film, yet she's able to kick ass and I think that was great.

I'm quite sure she'll surely be thrown into the traditional 'Bond girl' pool now. Hope she doesn't end up being one. Very few actresses have successful careers after being cast as Bond girls. It's kinda weird too, seeing as how Bond has so much international appeal......

If the new Tomb Raider is half as good as the next game looks than it'll be fantastic and Hayley will be more than welcome as Lara Croft.

(But I have a feeling they might cast a bit younger in that case anyway. As in teenage years)
