Henry certainly has the look down. I hope Zach (and WB/DC) gives him another chance.

I can just see him as Superman.

i used to hate the thought of him as Superman. i thought he was too young and looked too boyish. however, he's certainly grown into his own and no longer looks like a boy. every once in a while a picture of him will pop up where he shows a hint of his boyish look, but he certainly looks more, now, like a MAN than he did back when he was actually cast.

i really hope he at least gets a chance to audition, because if he does i think he'd get the role.

As I've said before, out of all the actors in his age range that have been brought up around here he is the only 1 with both the look and the talent.

I agree with everyone. Cavill should get the Job. I just hope the Director will take notice of him.

Well, what can WE do about it? Can we mak ourselves heard, you think?

Let's get the ball rolling somehow at least. Anyone know how to start an online petetion?

Starting a petition is useless, as far as I'm concerned. The Wellingites have petitioned & petitioned & partitioned for years and it's gained them absolutely nothing. I'm sure Cavill is on the radar, and if they see what all his supporters see, he'll get the job. A few thousand people signing an online petition won't help his chances at all.

But hot damn, the kid meets all the criteria - look, height (unless your a height idealist,) eyes, face, chin, voice, presence... Plus, he fits the Snyder mold: he's known by few or some, has the talent, has worked with talent, but he's not really "known." By us, sure. But I've mentioned him all over my real life and facebook and I guarantee 85-90% of the movie-going public has no idea who he is. Everytime I say, "Henry Cavill should be Superman," 99 times out of 100, the response is, "Who?!" I'm positive that, when Immortals hits the theaters, many, many more people will jump aboard & say, "hey, that guy would make a good Superman."

And I've posted this a bunch of times, and I'll post it a bunch more because, well, Cavill is IT.

Damnit, I'm getting attached to this guy being cast.

^Like him as much as you want for the role, but don't get attached.

I would find it especially amusing if Cavill & especally Routh or Welling where cast in the reboot.

People who have said things like "x actor won't be cast, get over it", "x actors participation in x show/x movie or x failed movie = not going to be cast, get over it" etc, they'd be left squirming with the truth that they had no & have no clue what Snyder/Nolan/WB want/wanted in an actor for the role or what was & what wasn't allowed in regards to who they could cast.

If this is referring to my "don't get attached" comment, then all I'm saying is don't get too fond of an actor that if he doesn't get the role, one would be become dissapointed.

Let's atleast wait for who the candidates are before attaching to a particular actor.

I would love for Cavill to get the role btw.

I love him for the part. He's got those dark, murderous eyes that Superman should have.

Cant really speak about Welling but there is no freaking way in hell Routh is going to get cast again. People who think he has a chance are just delusional plain and simple, I will eat a ****ing shoe online and record it if he is cast but that is never ever ever going to happen.

As well as Tom Welling.

Smallville finished. The Man of Steel starts. :cwink:

Ive wanted Cavill for Supes for years. They'd be crazy not to at least seriously consider it. He's the right age to carry a franchise. He actually looks like Superman. Doesn't seem hard to figure out.

still look boyish to me. but an audition he should be given the chance for.

what are the chances of an audition, I wonder?

Because I think he has tried out for a bunch of superhero movies and he has never gotten to the finish line for some odd reason. He's like Scott Porter.

Hopefully with Immortals and Cold Light of Day due out , he'll gain some notice.Being the lead versus Bruce Willis should make someone there take notice.

Do you know when the trailer for the immortals will drop?

Well, Cold Light of Day due wont be out for a while so I dont think, unless they have access to the work print, they can use that for reference.

Hey, I'd love to eat crow as far as Welling is concerned.

It doesnt mean anything but if youre bored. Vote Cavill.

Ugh. Tom Welling is winning the poll by a landslide? Really?

Henry Cavill is the least known out of all of those candidates, so it's not really a surprise that he's almost dead last, but still the fact that the two most popular candidates are the ones who have already played the character kind of demonstrates how a lot of people will always choose the most familiar option when they have to make a decision.
