Sequels The Official "How YOU would do Spider-Man 4" thread

One of my ideas are based on the comics. Mine's mainly focused on the story and not action:
Peter is seriously ill and thinks he is going to die so he tells everyone he's Spider-Man but only after a while he discovers he has the flu so he has to convince everyone that he's not Spider-Man.

What are you saying? Because 'shock' waves are not electrical, but electricity does 'shock' you.

yes I know 'Shock' waves are not electrical...but an electric 'Shock' is electrical...thus Shockers name....his name is not based on Shock waves...it's based on electrical shocks... :woot:

Look it up dude... I've found mulitple sources saying shockers gloves DO NOT fire electricity. One comment I recall from the spiderman 1 game: So your called the shocker, but you don't use electricity... I dont get it.

Are you basing your statements on anything??

Also, whens the last time youve seen a bolt of lighting break apart a concrete wall?

'Tis is true....Shocker shoots out vibrational "shocks", not electrical shocks. Everyone should know this.

I could definitely see Kraven and Lizard (since he’s been set up in the last two movies already). You could introduce Kraven by having him come to New York to capture Lizard. There, he sees Spider-Man in action (against Lizard) and decides to hunt him too, forcing Peter to fight Kraven while trying to cure his mentor.

That sounds pretty cool... I never read the last hunt story, but its interesting. Didnt Kraven start killing criminals in a black spiderman suit after spidey was buried?

Yeah, he took Spider-Man's black costume to prove that he was a better Spider-Man than the original. His fighting was considered more deadly than Spider-Man's methods.

I think Kraven's Last Hunt divided into two movies would be cool. They could end Spider-Man 4 with Kraven burying Spider-Man and finish the rest of the story in Spider-Man 5.

When was the last time you saw a guy get bit by a radioactive spider and develop super powers?

Kill the non-believer!

Kidding. But seriously, I -along with the rest of the world- did see geneticists produce spider goats years ago.

These goats have the spider's silk producing gene, allowing them to secrete web from their udders in larger quantities than any spider.

Using a distilling/weaving machine, they can isolate the silk proteins from the milk and produce tough strands of 'biosteel'. Perfect fishing line, and superior lightweight armour.

As time goes by, a concept like spiderman slowly becomes more and more realistic. And the movies should be handled as such

I don't know about villains or any of that right now but I do know I wouldn't put one scene of Toby Maguire making whiney, pouty, ugly faces. Nor would I have him crying in the movie over what usual is nothing to begin with. Crying for his dying Uncle, that's one thing, but let's quit giving him face time, without the mask, just to justify his big paycheck.

I know one thing.....I'd love to see Spidey swing more, just to clear his head and see some really graceful night time web slinging. I always loved that as a kid. This of course would require more Spider-Man screen time which is something Raimi seems to be against.

Here are some of my views.

- Stop making Spider-Man a kidflick. I not talking about making the story darker, but for god's sake he's been crying about Mary Jane in three movies now. There are tons of great SM stories that they can draw from.

- Higher stakes. People will actually have to die and the end battles shouldn't always have to revolve around saving Mary-Jane.

- Kill MaryJane.:woot:

- Maybe it's time for another director to helm a movie?

- Hirering a musical writer is a really terrifying idea to me, but hey maybe this time PP will tapdance all over Morpheus's ass.:woot:

One thing I would absolutely do in SM4 is to show MJ and Peter living together HAPPILY. No more drama about their relationship, about them coping with him being Spider-Man or whether they will or wont end up together. They were happily married for years in the comics till Marvel wanted to switch things up recently.

Other things, could be used on 4 and 5 (and 6):
Peter's powers mutating further, him growing six arms.
Connors becoming the Lizard and Peter saving him, and then later coming to him for help with his arms situation maybe.
Aunt May discovering Peter is Spider-Man, and her responce. And then seeing her living with him being Spider-Man.
Mentioning what happened to his parents would be cool.
4 and 5 building up to film 6 and the introduction of the Sinister Six (possibly put together by Kraven) and having Peter fight them all at once.

THIS i do want to see, give Peter other problems and dangers now, MJ has had enough of the limelight.

I would like to see Spidey have to face an organized crime ring and/or naughty scientists up to no good, rather than an super-powered bad guy. It could be a bit of a mystery element with Spiderman skulking around in hallways, and up the sides of buildings trying to figure out what is going on. We can get some more spider-sense scenes (which have been under-played), then also see him use smarts to figure stuff out.

Fighting and dodging gun-toting bad-guys, and some kick-ass stunt-double fight scenes where he Jackie Chan's a room full of guys is in order.

What's nice about these things is that they're is still alot of possibilities for other films. So many great ideas that haven't been used yet.

I like your suggestions about Connors becoming Lizard. I agee, he's been in three films, and it's time for him to become the Lizard. Im not so enthused about the six arms angle, and as for Aunt May discovering Peter is Spiderman, I believe that it has subtly been inferred that she already knows who he is (Spiderman II hints at this notion heavily)....

Sinister Six, I would really enjoy seeing, but how to bring Doc Ock back without making it look too contrived? I don't want forced storylines, ala Venom....

Sandman is a better example of a forced storyline. Venom is just a storyline that ended before it should have. Had just Eddie or Venom lived it would have been alright.

But yes, I know what you mean and I agree.

Same for the MJ stuff, 3 movies is enough, if she is such a pain Peter wouldn't waste his time.

I'm hoping to see less of the 'my powers are a curse' stuff as well. If we can see Peter totally at peace, so to speak, with his powers it could free up a lot of time and make for some great scenes.

I would do Spider-Man 4 base off this teaser trailer I wrote. Detailing some major events that lay the ground works that lead up to Spider-Man 5. This is part 1 of a propose Back-2-Back film.

The Following PREVIEW Has Been Approved For ALL AUDIENCES By The Motion Picture Association Of America.

The screen is dark, a deep orchestrated gothic score permeate the theater. The words *even secrets can not lie dormant forever* fills and fades from the screen, as a familiar voice-over eerily resonates. “I know who you are.”

A quick scene flash across the screen of a shadowy, startle female figure listening to someone on her earpiece… ”Jesus, you must leave now! I’m in the embassy garage, go!”

The screen fades to darkness, as the gothic hum plays continuously. The words *the past clashes with the present* fills and fades from the screen as an eerily voice resonates again. “Level-5 classification… outcast, from a very prominent family.”

A quick scene flash across the screen of the same shadowy figure, hastily racing through a dark hallway…. into the arms of another shadowy figure, frighten with relief, “thanks god it’s you!”

The screen fades into darkness again as the gothic hum begins to build. The words *secrets are revealed* fills and fades from the screen, as an eerily voice continues to resonate. “A shadow you are… with the best across the globe, you have trained.”

A quick scene flash across the screen, of the same shadowy female face, suddenly gasp, as she leans back and pierce through the eyes of a shadowy figure in disbelief, softly proclaiming, “Why!” The mysterious figure gently lay the lifeless figure to the floor.

The screen fades to darkness, as the gothic theme began to build with soft thumping beats. The words *and old wounds are open* fills and fades from the screen, as an eerily voice continues to resonate. “I can use your talents.”

A quick scene flash across the screen, of a manly figure sitting in a parked car, as the door opens and a female figure gets in, as the manly figure speaks in a very concerning tone, “thank god you got out… we have to get out of here.” The manly figure suddenly gasp, with the look of shock, slumps over the steering!

Suddenly the screen goes black, the music stops abruptly, a momentarily silence… than an unfamiliar voice-over calmly questions, “Why should I help you?” The eerie voice recounts, “I know what you seek.”

A full and huge, resonating orchestrated score plays as a number of scenes flash across the screen.

Spiderman swings through the night city traffic, Aunt May with a distraught look on her face, Peter in angst looking over his shoulders, Spiderman soars off a building as a sensual voice-over warns, “looks like your little friend has a price on his head.” Gwen runs hysterically to Dr. Connors aid, “HELP, SOMEONE HELP!” Peter confronts MJ, “I DON’T KNOW ANYMORE”. Peter yanks his mask off with a puzzled look on his face, Betty hugs someone with tearful concern, Spiderman falls confusingly, a hude explosion light the city’s night sky, a businessman raises his glass for a toast, the Bugle staff stares at a breaking news report with shock and amazement, MJ sits in an airport terminal, a figure open a can of whip-arse on Spidey…. martial arts style.

Suddenly the screen goes black, the music stops abruptly, a momentarily silence… a hiss & soft, deep, growl permeates… suddenly something streak across the screen as the words *SPIDER-MAN 4* glistens and fades.

The words *May 2011* fills and fades from the screen.

I heard, don't know if its true, that Venom was forced into the movie by the studios since they thought it might be the last.
Sort of like, "hey fans like this guy, maybe he can be a spin off, put him in it."
Again, could be false. But I heard it was going to be Sandman and Electro or Vulture.

Arad told Raimi that the fans wanted to see venom. So he put him in. Doing something for us, you know.
