3. Spiderman
4. IronMan
5. FF: Rise of the Surfer

That's why you don't think Batman Begins is great? Because Gordon and a bum thought the Batmobile was cool, and because you think a building should have fallen, even though it's definitely possible that the building could have still been standing after that?

Lame. EVERY superhero movie will have one-liners and fantastical situations. Look at Iron Man for another prime example...

You can call it "lame"... but it's my opinion.

Of course every comic book movie has it's "groan" moments, and those were a couple of big ones for me that ultimately led to some minor disappointment on my part. I think BB is a good solid movie, but hardly deserving of the title "greatest". And this is coming from a guy with a Bat insignia as his avatar as well as a Bat-Username.

And I'm a Structural Engineer... so there's NO WAY that building should have still been standing afterwards.

:yay:

If I recall correctly, those columns were a part of the train system leading into the building and not part of the building itself....

It's been a while, but I think you're mistaken, because as the train tumbles forward (and Gordon did shoot the last railway support), it would only be natural for it to fall in the lower tier of the building... as you can see that it's part of the lower parking garage, which I would assume is below the building.

:yay:

Iron Man was pretty good. i think it was very predictable though, and it had the cookie cutter feel to it- but thats because the execs will never let it lose that tried and true equation they always use. the suit looked great though. Favreau always changes things a little too much for my taste (Jarvis, Kingpin)- for examples

Favreau didn't write or direct 'Daredevil' so he had nothing to do with Michael Clarke Duncan as 'Kingpin'....I happen to like Jarvis as a high tech computer system...it fit nicely

Just got back and I absolutely loved every minute of it. One of the best if not thee best Superhero film I've seen. RDJ was perfect in the role as Tony Stark, easily the best actor to portray a Superhero IMO. The rest of the cast was tremendous as well, loved Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard, and Gwenyth Paltrow. Im already anxious for the sequel.

P.S. I loved how they had Tom Morrello from Rage Against the Machine as one of the terrorists in the beginning.

Yikes! i dont know why i thought Favreau directed Daredevil- my bad-. on another note was that terrorist guy with the ring supposed to be Mandarin?

Either way Downey Jr is IRON MAN. no one else could have done it as good as him. I cant complain too much about anything else- its just- the plot- it wasnt bad by any means just, it wasnt spectacular either. there is just something missing- i think it was with the terrorists- they should have attacked a city instead of the middle of nowhere- making it a little more relevant to us. And Stane- well u know- he shouldnt have known how to use the suit that fast or be able to duplicate it. and the part where Stane stole Starks chest piece- thats a little.....i mean come on....ridiculous. and the paralyzer thingy...yeah see im talking myself outta liking this movie even more- ill stop now

I actually liked Stane pulling out the chest piece. It was pretty creepy. The ear device was pretty cool too. I like all the advanced tech in the movie and how it worked well in the context of the movie and wasn't unbelievably out there.

9/10

I could give it 10/10 but I think i'll save that for the directors cut. ;)

I just saw it and Downey's performance blew me away. I felt for him.

even ms potts

I hear ya. It was the same with the first Spiderman really, but they've laid the groundwork for a truely spectacular sequel. (Mandarin... Shield... War Machine...)

A few things I noticed when I saw it for the 3rd time tonight ...

1- Why did Tony have one of his BK hamburgers IN HIS POCKET during the press conference. He seriously pulled a burger OUT OF HIS SUIT JACKET! It was soo funny. But then I thought about having a warm greasy burger in your pocket and got kind of disgusted. But he still pwns

2- A scene that I thought could have gone over well was that... Ok, you know how when Pepper pulls out his first chest piece, and afterwards she says 'Never make me do that again' (or something along those lines) ... Me and my friends agreed that it would have been cute if she had gone straight home after Obidius (sp?) left and she put the old one back in and said 'I thought you said you'd never make me do that again' all relieved. Could have been cute?

3. Ignore this one unless you've seen Alien-->Does anyone else see the resemblance between the scene when Pepper and the SHIELD agents are looking for the Iron Monger in that dark room and he appears silhouette style from the chains to the scene in Alien where the crew member guy is searching for the cat and the Alien comes out at him from the chains? I thought it definitely had a resemblance!

4. Anyone know how the HELL Tony survived at the end when the blast killed Obadiah?? And Tony was more 'in the way' of the blast... He got blown away, but it pretty much hit him straight on.....

:) Good Movie even 3rd time around though. Man I love RDJ.

I wanna know how he survived when the Mark 1 suit crashed in the desert. Wasn't he supposed to be like upside down or something? Instead he's in an upright position just casually stripping off parts of the suit.

its a briliant summer superhero comicbook movie. RDJ was perfection.

what i didnt like. so tony builds a magnet that is like a battery. a super battery. with that fake heart he powers up the suit. so why can the suit not have a seperate energy heart?

Jarvis mentioned that his improved Mark III could operate on auxilary power, if that helps.

The only reason I can think of, is so he's the only person that has access to the suit. In case someone ever steals the plans, they'd need the blue prints for a miniature arc. And it looks like those plans are all in Stark's head.

aha. i dont remember that. must again watch the movie.

Yeah, cause HE BUILT IT IN A CAVE! WITH A BUNCH OF SCRAPS! AND NO WI-FI!
:D

However,Iron Man will be there when there is trouble and when he can,and as long as he isn't intoxicated! :woot:
At least authorities like the police, etc wouldn't go after him because they know he is Iron Man,there's upsides to it too you know. :o

But he cant be there all of the time, especially when he has endangered so many people. EVERYONE who is employed by Stark Industries is now in harms way because of Tony's action.

It seems to work OK in the current books and The Ultimates, just my opinion of it though...

Dont get me wrong, i love it when a movie is faithful to its source, but sometimes, what works in the comics doesnt in the movies.

:yay:

The whole point of the act with the train was so it WOULDNT reach Wayne Tower, and it didnt, otherwise the water mains of the whole city would have blown, the train crashed into its own station, not Wayne Tower.

i bet that in the first 10 minutes of the sequel they will say that tony is not iron man and that he was drunk.

I know he can't be around all the time in places where people need to be saved, that is why I suggested that he would be around when he can so he can save people and defeat bad guys. :cwink::word:
