I haven't really read the comics. Just heard that it's quite popular over at Newsarama, so I wanted to get interested in this, ESPECIALY since this month's issue features Ms. Marvel (possibley even in the nude, hehe). And WE ALL KNOW that everyone here is smitten for ms marvel (or was it everyone over at newsarama?)! I know only a bit about this guy from wikipedia. That's all. So....anyone gonna get today's issue, and talk about it, and maybe even post some revealing *wink wink* pics from it?:woot:

IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN is quickly becoming one of my favorite Marvel titles, and right now is probably the best Marvel book Kirkman does. Heck, in some ways it's more interesting than MTU was, even if it does build from it. Unlike Ultimate X-Men, Kirkman has a clear focus here, and his means of adding a "legacy" character was genius, as it avoids the cliches. The new cliche for a new legacy hero is to make them ethnic and noble. True, Eric O'Grady is a Scotch-Irish name, but by "ethnic" it is usually implied as non-white (or at least homosexual). And while he has saved some people, he's about the opposite of noble. He's a selfish bastard, and a peeping tom, and about the last person you would want to rescue you. That is why it's fresh. Ant-Man was a supporting character in team books since AVENGERS but this was the best way to make an ongoing with an incarnation of him work. Plus, it has Kirkman's brand of dark humor, with some absurdity thrown in (the duel of the Ant-Men? C'mon, that is so absurd that it's wonderful when embraced).

In a way, Eric is much like the jerk all of us has known, or secretly is or almost wishes we had the guts to be. He uses his powers for his own benefit first, which is opposite many heroes who are selfless.

Plus, it also has had good art.

New issue coming today and I can't wait. Hopefully linking it to THE INITIATIVE does something for sales, although ever since MARVEL ZOMBIES, Marvel has been patient with low selling Kirkman works.

This has got to be my favorite cover for the series so far.

It would be cool if that cover tricked fans into thinking it's a reprint of MIGHTY AVENGERS #1 so it could sell within the Top 50, like it more than deserves.

Hey, a fan can dream, can't he? :o

I think I'll get a sale boost with the upcoming tie-ins. It deserves to.

thanks 4 posting, dude. make sure 2 get the new issue today, post your opinions on it, and maybe some interesting pics from it! Kay? Thanks:woot:

Hahaha I def. gotta pick up the latest issues, I got to isse five and then stopped but I'm def. going to go and grab the new ones

I think I'll get a sale boost with the upcoming tie-ins. It deserves to.

Definately. In March it sold at #121 (barely beating out BLUE BEETLE) with about 16,900 copies. It's had over a 50% drop in sales since #1, which debuted at almost 30k. Even the horrendous BLADE outsells it. It's literally the lowest selling ongoing MU title, now that NEXTWAVE is gone. It has outsold some mini's and Marvel's handful of MAX titles.

Of course, we could all think of a messload of books that deserve to sell better, including this one.

I'll be aboard for as many issues as it lasts. At least it's outliving THE THING. :o

anyone gonna post their reviews, summarries, or pics from this issue? If anyone is interested in doing so, please post back conforming NOW!!!! Thanks!:woot:
