LBP3 is also coming to the PS3....UGH!

https://***********/StevenIsbell/status/476405948609998848

Since all the old levels are backwards compatible, I don't know why this news would be that surprising.

I tried to pop in LBP2 earlier today but the amount of updates required took way too long, it had been updating for about 2 hours and was barely half way when my PS3 told me there was an error and I lost connection. Might try to set it up again to update before I go to bed so it'll update while I'm asleep.

cross gen games are more often than not less beautiful than new gen only games.

I hope all old content for this series can be made available for the ps4 version. I'd love to have those marvel and dc hero skins.

yep. Although LBP isn't the most technical advance game, who knows what they could have done with the PS4 version without the PS3. I also think Sony more than anyone should be promoting exclusive content on the PS4 bc while it may be selling, all these cross games are making it that much harder for people to upgrade bc there isn't a compelling reason to yet.

Just a guess, but considering that all skins are compatible across all LBP games (including spinoffs) and this PS4 one will be compatible with past levels, I would think the answer would be yes

the jump drom LBP1 to LBP2 was huge, graphically. I hope LBP3 will look really sexy.

Why "Ugh?" That's awesome

this. I was extremely disappointed to see LBP3 coming out on Ps3, among some other disappointments I'll talk about at the end of this post.

As well, I'd like my custom outfits to carry over as well. I made some Mario and Luigi costumes I want ported over.

Assuming the E3 trailer was showing Ps4 build, no, the graphical leap doesn't look spectacular at all. Hell you could tell me that that E3 trailer was LBP2 dlc with new characters and that would be believable.

It was also extremely disappointing to see that LBP3 is again another side scroller. I was really hoping to finally see LBP in fully 3D gameplay.

As GameDirect's Patricia stated with her Spyro retrospective, adding new characters in Spyro 3 was a sign that they were running out of ideas. And I can say the team that adopted LBP3 from media molecule definitely had exactly that problem; not knowing where to go with it from the beginning, so they added characters with special abilities.

I agree. Sony of all people should have known to keep this game Ps4 exclusive, just like they did with Infamous. Making a Ps3 port available was a big mistake.

Not for those of us who can't afford a ps4.

well what was their logic for not making a ps3 port for infamous second son then? or for the upcoming driveclub?

exactly... the point was to make people WANT the ps4 more. making a last gen port for new gen games devalues the ps4.

I will still definitely get it. My wife and I love to play together. it will be her birthday's gift.

I said it before and I think the only reason its happening is bc LBP3 was conceived as a PS3 game and was set to only be release there but Sony saw that they had no first party PS4 games set for this fall (remember DC was supposed to come out last year), so they made the developers rework the title and port it over. That's the only thing that would make sense to me

They made LBP Vita in the hopes that it would sell Playstation Vitas. Who is playing the PS Vita these days?

Me. It's an awesome system. And LBP vita was great.

LBP Vita is the second best selling Sony game on the system after Uncharted which was a launch title. The Vita may not do well as a platform but that game most definitely sold well on it

I'll still get it too. I've been hooked onto LBP ever since I saw the demo at best buy when I was a teenager. I bought and have been a die hard fan ever since. Girls love it too.

That sounds like a likely scenario, but knowing the essence of LittleBigPlanet, if the Ps3 version can do everything the Ps4 version can do flawlessly, then this game isn't even a true new gen title. The Ps4 version will just be the exact same thing and the Ps3 version with better graphics. Ugh.

I so so SO hope that maybe in like 2 years (I think that was the gap between LBP1 & 2) they come out with LBP4 in true 3D, and make it a Ps4 exclusive with amazing graphics. No doubt the Ps3 is holding the Ps4 back with LBP3 and the graphics would have been better if there wasn't a port in between.

Me. When I bought my vita it came with super marvel vs capcom 3, and LBP was the one and only game I bought.

I even use it for the remote play/2nd screen **** for Ps4 but that sucks. I can't press down the analog stick so I don't get how to sprint in the destiny beta or ghosts. And I don't know what it is but something causes badass dead zone lags in the analog sticks as well.
Me. It's an awesome system. And LBP vita was great.
LBP was the one and only game I went out and purchased for my vita. I played it, and it bored the **** outta me. I don't know if it is because it's just not as good as the Ps3 versions of the game, or if I just don't like playing a console level game on a handheld, but I just stopped playing it. I didn't even want to finish the campaign and haven't done multiplayer once.

I love Uncharted 2 but I never wanted to get Golden Abyss. I didn't like the demo. I heard that the vita does indeed have a high attachment rate, but what is your source that these games sold well?

I don't know if I want a 3d LBP. Granted, Media molecule did an amazing job with tearaway, but LBP work so well as 2d games.

Ya, and Mario worked well as 2D as well but eventually went 3D.

Making an LBP 3D opens up soooooo many doors and opportunities for both MM and the gamers playing it.

LBP3 doesn't look that exciting to me at all...I'll still get it because I'm a diehard LBP fan but man was it disappointing to see that there will be a Ps3 port.

You could've told me before the ending of the video that it is a massive LBP2 DLC that adds new levels and characters and even that would have been believable.

what are you guys talking about? LBP is already capable of 3D levels. They can definitely refine it but its not like it doesn't exist. There are plenty up on the community

and this only accounts for physical sales. Digital would likely make them a bit higher

That's an amazing looking level, Havok. Added to my queue.

what do you think I mean?! I meant I wanted an LBP game that was fully fledged 3D, a true 3D LBP, like Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy are true 3D platformers. And that level wasn't a true 3D level. Whoever made it did a great job but had to make do with a mostly 2D tool kit.

as for your sources, it's a damn shame that none of those games could crack even 5 million, and I'm sure with digital sales they are not much higher. Anyways, everybody always says vgchartz isn't reliable but... aren't they usually close to the accurate numbers?

The Vita is sitting at around 8-9 million sales. I don't know why anyone would expect any game to have sold 5 million. No game has an attached rate that high on any system unless its bundled. I definitely do think digital sales would scale those numbers higher quite a bit. Digital is more common and "acceptable" so to speak on the handheld than it is on a home console.

it's just sad that the vita failed in general.

Tons of preorder bonuses announced. I have to say Amazon has the best one.
