The Official 'Lord Of the Rings' Thread

To be honest, I'd actually rather them fix the CG Gollum in Fellowship.

Eh, I wouldn't throw a fit if they changed it, but there's not much harm in keeping it because he's so obscured by the darkness. I honestly wouldn't have known that that was the first design before Andy Serkis came on if I didn't find out on the documentary.

^ I thought those images were well known?

This website has had the new picture up since September 23, 2012.

:wow: dang, he looks creepy... i kinda wish they would of put that in the film now... oh well

After two years I FINALLY got around to watching my "Return of the Kings" blu ray.

"Epic" is only one word to describe it. I noticed near the end Legolas looking rather odd.

It's probably him admiring Narsil but it looks like a goof with Orlando Bloom being amazed by the sword.

Actually that scene was supposed to be them looking at Sauron in physical form but they later got rid of it because storywise that's not what they wanted.

I always liked the idea that Sauron possessed some armor, leaving the tower without the eye. Would of showed just how big of a distraction they were.

Ring possessed Frodo is creeping the **** out of me. Terrifying.

Anyone else planning on marathoning all three films back to back?

I already did that with the extended editions once, i was quite tired by the end of it

I did it with the theatrical versions before. 8:30AM-18:15PM.

9 3/4 hours.

I have the theatricals on blu ray but I just can't find the time between work and school and a baby to do a straight marathon of all three. A few months ago I did watch all three in three consecutive days though and that was awesome.

I did this marathon ten year ago when ROTK started at cinemas 05:00 pm - 04:00 am. It was fun. My theater did it a year later again, it was though then. I fear I'm too old for these things now.:cwink:

I've done that a few times before. It takes a bit of planning. You gotta make sure you have the whole day clear. Then start really early in the day, like noon or sooner. And be sure you're plenty rested, as you may fall asleep midway through otherwise.

That is a much easier way to go about it. And almost as awesome as a 12 hour one day marathon.

I have watched all three back to back about two times. That was when I was in middle and high school and had nice free summer breaks....
