I felt like that conversation was more about white people thinking they can possibly have any idea what it is to be black in America, than about rejecting ethnicity.My favorite part of the last issue was easily the convo between Kate and Mr. Bones. I've experienced similar convos first hand since I'm a black man by race and Dominican American by nationality. People always expect me to sympathize with colored folks all the time just cause I'm colored but I sympathize with people only based on their own convictions not cause they look like me or don't look like me so that entire convo rang true to me.
