Yes, his body could be damaged. But it would need more than a few bullets. He didn't immediately drop when Vamp stabbed him several times. He only almost died because of the blood loss. So having him die by a couple bullets still wouldn't the proper fix.
Why the hell not? It takes like 30 slashes to kill a human being from a sword.

If you think that A metal Gear game needs a hack & slash gameplay to make it fit with Raiden's strength. Then no offence but you are wrong. They should of come up with something more original.

He. Is. A. Cyborg.

It's not simply his strength. Hack & slash was the only logical choice. This shouldn't just be MGS4 with a sword. Raiden is capable of completely crazy stunts and feats. Going with a similar approach like Bayonetta and DMC simply was inevitable.

If you want to fight like this, sticking with the original MGS concept doesn't cut it. He is an over the top character, so the gameplay needs to be over the top too.

If they were to "weaken" him by having him die to a couple of gunshots then that would render the entire reason of playing as a cyborg null.

The complaints get more petty.

Would it render the entire reason of playing Raiden with a sword that can cut through anything if he had to slash on a human enemy multible times for him or her to die?

They could of come up with something more original than Hack& slash and kept elements of a stealth game.

Look at the new Batman Games. He does a bunch a crazy **** and its a stealth game. He can take out over 100 bad guys with out geting hit once. But he is unable to take more than a few shots from the bad guys. They could of come up with a GodHand gameplay for Batman's gameplay but they wanted to be original.

Batman is human. Raiden is a Cyborg. And Batman's crazy **** doesn't compare to what Raiden does. He doesn't run along walls, throws something the size of King Kong and jumps after it.

How is stealth inherently more original than "hack & slash"? Especially when nearly every other game in the Metal Gear series has stealth pretty well covered?

And the bigger question is why are so many people seemingly incapable of understanding that a series can be comprised of more than one genre?

Did people get this pissy with Metal Gear Acid?

Also, I feel like the two Metal Gear threads need to be consolidated in the multiplatform section. There's really no reason for this thread to live in the Sony section, and I've suggested we move it a couple times before, but it's fallen on deaf ears.

The trailer looked like Devil May Metal Gear or Ninja Gaiden Gear.

I really love the idea they're going with of Raiden helping rebuild an African nation, the possibilities are endless where that would take his character. Likewise it's interesting that they're portraying PMC's in a more positive light.

I kept it here because it was such a mainstay of the Sony forums, but you're right. It's time to move it :(
