'Lose the kid' and you lose half the movie. Not that it would make that much of a difference, but still....SR wasn't bad. The problem with it was pacing and Singer tried to make a romantic chick flick. If SR had been edited correctly, lose the kid story line and add the tsunami sequence it would have made more money.
My theory on the first film of a Superman movie is Singer and Donners formula of Krypton + Lex + natural disaster causes an alien prescence to come to earth. Meaning we could really see Superman do some kickass work to stop some natural disasters plus confront some terrorism from Intergang in the first film. While something in that first film leads to Brainiac and Metallo entering the picture in the sequel which would lead to doomsday or darkseid in the 3rd film.
Oh well more Zod.
