Some of you people are like little spoiled brat children....seriously.

You think Chris Nolan came off of The Dark Knight and Inception and decided the best direction for Superman was another rehash of Superman 2? Please....wake the heck up!

Instead of the pie in the sky pieced together all over the place Superman II where the world already loves Superman, a story about Superman overcoming xenophobia, heightened by golden boy Lex Luthor who is vocal against alien threat, only to be reinforced by Zod who comes to Earth like he owns the place. Yes please!

Brainiac comes into play and screws over everyone? Would be even better.

As for all of you not seeing the movie because we were just promised that Superman will fight someone other than a falling plane and a kryptonite continent, you be my guest. Go back and see Superman Returns or something. I'll be at the midnight opening of Man Of Steel!

I cannot wait for Man Of Steel to blow everyone away. It's going to re-establish Superman as top dog in the Superhero business. :supes:

Didn't Dark Knight originally post this rant?

Don't see the big deal in using Zod personally.

Zod could be interesting if he is interconnected with the other classic elements of Superman- Brainiac, the Phantom Zone, Kandor, that whole Kryptonian mythology....I mean, he could connect the greater mythology, rather than him just turning up on Earth, fighting Superman, being defeated, dying, The End. But that he opens up all the other doorways to the other stories.

Yeah Yeah. Stop stealing my thoughts.

Go drink some cranberry juice.

What mean I is I don't see why some are *****ing and moaning. Don't see the big deal in that.

I sure hope Zod doesn't just show up and ready to dominate/destroy&rule in his first scene!,Respect towards Kal-El and hints of him trying to do good then he see's all the negatives in humans and sees them as weak and that causes him to go towards the dark side.....sounds great to me!

May be done&seen as very similar to Mags&X,But I'll still welcome that than just right out pure evil as soon as he arrives on earth like SMII!

Zod was never good, so why should he be in this film? If even for 5 minutes??

Seeing Nolan's name in virtually every thread...

is somewhat annoying to me.

Oh well.

He is the one who hatched the story with Goyer. Nolan as proven his worth and that is a FACT!

No reason for people to be pessimistic. I can see people having valid complaints if Snyder wrote the story, but not when it comes to Nolan.

Please no Donner zod.It shouldnt even resemble Donner Zod.I could go with Russian Zod.
And you know what we might be *****ing for nothig!Zod might just have a cameo appearance as the creator of Braniac!Braniac could still be the villain.
Pls let it be so.

IF Zod was just to have a cameo with no big role&stuff,WB would have confirm him as a cameo already and they would get an even way less known actor for the cameo!!

not unless they were wanting to set him up as the villain in the sequel...thye would have used the same guy

So they could open with the story of Zod and the theft of Kandor, then Krypton's destruction. Zod and company escape the PZ somehow and you play out a Birthright scenario with Zod and Luthor working together to smear Superman. Superman defeats Zod and Luthor with more or less the same ending as Birthright, and then there is a perfect setup for Brainiac to be the main villain of the sequel as he comes to shrink Metropolis. It makes a lot of sense.

Then they can have a sequel with Brainiac and it sets up perfectly for a "Last Days of Krypton" prequel completely fleshing out the Zod/Brainiac/Kandor story, and the series is set up for a Supergirl spinoff as well.

I've actually had a similar idea. Luthor, who will (I am 95% sure) be the CEO version, should go to jail at the end of the first movie, in the second one he gets assigned by the government (perhaps even with Superman together) to manage the Brainiac problem. Superman should acquire Kandor and in the third movie he could go to space to find a way to resize it. There he would meet Mongul and War World. But hey, only a dream :word:

Wait... didn't Snyder say Zod would not be the villian in this movie?

Regardless... I don't care who the villian is as long as its a good movie.

Plus the title should be either The Man of Steel or Superman: Man of Steel. :o

yeah I'm not too crazy about just Man of Steel...throw THE or Superman in there

Well IF it's known that Shannon has signed a contract to do more, then perhaps he could actually be a cameo after all.....or he'll just survive and return with Brianiac in a possible 2nd movie!

Options for possible sequels are standard operating procedure in regards to contracts for these big films.
