Seriously though, I'm not even one of the haters of this idea, I'm one of the pretty disappointeds but I'm not hating on it.

And I would have been 50% less interested if Buttler were cast as Zod. He's a bad actor IMHO.

I have not liked Butler since 300. But he's always been weird with his picks, and I've always thought that 300 was a happy accident on his part.

May I add that Goyer would have to explain the concept of the 'Phantom Zone'. To be, the Phantom Zone is too much but... But if not, perhaps Goyer could find a way to preserve Zod and Ursa in a different manner.

Maybe they're pawns of Brainiac, and he granted them longevity if they do his bidding.. Maybe Zod invented Brainiac and left Krypton long before it exploded, and were in cyro-frozen. I don't know.

Also, Zod wouldn't know 'English' would he?

I would think Lex has to be in the film, he is a character in that universe just like Lois, Jimmy, Perry, Ma, and Pa.

Michael Shannon is a great actor. I'm glad they're going with Zod as opposed to Lex Luthor, since he's been used so much before. Plus Zod is a worthy physical opponent.

The cast is shaping up very nicely, which makes me all the more wary that Snyder is in charge of it.

Considering that Zack played in huge part of the casting, I think he's gonna make his best movie yet. This might be his redemption song.
