Now that he mentions it, seeing Shannon in one of those kind of those practical suits would make him looks a bit silly. He doesn't seem to have the right look to be fit into one of those things. The man has something going on with his face that it would just be better off to leave him bare and acting.

If he doesn't have the right look to be in a practical suit then they hired the wrong actor. I assume the only reason they are doing a cgi suit is because it's something they can't do easily in a practical suit. I doubt it has to do with Shannon's body type.

In Snyder we trust, am I right? (No sarcasm)

Uhh... After his "SuckerPunch" movie, I'd be careful to use that sentence. Downright a piece of crap that movie was. This isn't Chris Nolan we're talking about here. Let's just hope that his superman movie is as ambitious as "WatchMen".

woow :wow:

Considering we have a black Perry White, a Ginger Lois Lane and unique take on the Superman suit, I don't know why everyone is pointing at 'For Tomorrow' and saying 'that's where he will get the look from!

Whatever look he is doing for Zod and the 'others' on set wearing mo-cap suits that Shannon referred to, is quite capable of coming soley from Snyder's imagination, and not from anywhere in the source material.

Did they not learn from Green Lantern? All CGI suit will make him look like a floating head.

They hired the wrong actor because he doesn't have a practical look? Using my logic, we should just get rid of Shannon and get someone who can wear a practical suit then. :awesome:

watched the MTV interview last night.......

Shannon has a really......."laid-back" demeanor.........

I wasn't expecting that........

it will be interesting to see his take on Zod.

It's interesting that Shannon is so laid back in real life because he can be uber-intense on film, like in Revolutionary Road and Bug. I've heard he's also amazing on Boardwalk Empire, though I haven't seen the show. But trust me, he can play a guy who is wrapped so tight you'll think he's about to suck his eyeballs back into their sockets and right up his ass.

I have little doubt, and I have said this several times that Shannons Zod will make us all feel very uncomfortable.

He is a clear bright spot in Empire, but mainly because he just has that uncanny ability to really make your skin crawl....

His angry tone and serious demeanor are menacing a natural point, but his face and his eyes carry an odd kind of distant inteligence and insanity

Guess you guys didn't see the earlier interview when he was first announced as Zod.

LOL, Remember those good old days in Krypton. Zod and Jor-El having tea. Love his dry humor.

Did you see "World Trade Center" with Nicholas Cage? Shannon is in it playing a Marine, a Sergeant I think, and even though he is playing a good guy (obviously) he seems pretty creepy in general... get it, "general" but, he was good in it. He seems pretty freaky in "The Iceman" movie coming up this year.

I've managed to meet a lot of different celebs at conventions...some of the actors best known for being bad guys are the friendliest people you could ever meet.

I'm always surprised at how different Jackie Earle Haley is in interviews from Rorschach, Freddy, and even Guerrero on Human Target. He seems like such a cool, laid back dude. You could just shake his hand and have a good chat with him.

I met Patrick Kilpatrick http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0453304/ at a convention. He's played the slimiest meanest worst baby killing murderers in his movies...and he's the nicest guy you could meet. I had forgot to bring some stuff I had of him in REMO WILLIAMS to sign. He said he wished I had, because he would like to make copies of them for his own collection. He gave me his home address and email and asked me if I could send him copies. I made copies and sent them.....and a few weeks later I got some signed copies back from him. I thought that pretty cool...then he called me at home to see if I had received them....now that was cool.

Except Hal, Sinestro, and Abin didn't look like floating heads.

Abin was all CGI so he wouldn't. But in scenes where Hal was the only real thing on screen and everything else was CGI, he definitely dead.

I agree, he has a quality in his acting that makes you feel uneasy/ on edge while watching him...a kind of sense of forboding. Him playing Zod will be perfection if he can pull all of those qualities into his projection of Zod. General Zod is a scary as hell guy, and I think that's exactly what we will see.

Do you guys think that the interpretation of Zod in this film should be presented where he was once friends with Jor el? Or should his history on krypton remain where he was always at odds with Jor el?

There is never a time when it is best to stray away from the source material.

In the context of the movie and its story, sure it is at times. It's happened in the best comic book films.

The costume will have advanced organic-bio-metal armor and almost tendril/tentacle based weapons - think a Dr Octopus or Scorpion fused with T2 liquid metal style
