The Official Mitt Romney Thread II

No, of course not, no context at all. A dedicated liberal site and completely biased.

Here, take my hand and I'll guide you to a follow-up of that article.

"Basically he was retelling the story and when he said ‘I don’t know why they don’t have roll down windows on airplanes,’ he looked at the audience and everyone laughed.”

Yeah, Gawker is a pretty awful site to use a source to use against Romney. They make the Huffington Post look subtle.

ROMNEY. Neither charismatic nor convincing, Romney has failed to establish himself as a credible, trusted vehicle for delivering attacks against the president. As a businessman used to spreadsheets and the cold calculus of the deal, he seems to have regarded voters as shareholders in a troubled company, who would welcome a takeover based on what the balance sheets showed. It doesn't work that way. If voters are going to have to sacrifice -- and they instinctively know that they do -- it matters to them whether the new boss has a heart and a soul as well as a sharp pencil.

A lot of Republicans are distancing themselves from Romney, and speaking out against him. It reminds me of the backlash from the Ryan plan. I think a lot of them are going to start shifting focus to the Senate soon, and write Romney off completely. Which means donors could leave as well, which would still leave Romney with a lot of cash, but not as much as he likes. I doubt Romney honestly believes it when he says he doesn't see anything wrong with the campaign, I think he's just loyal to his staff, and doesn't want to drive his supporters away by admitting weakness.

Plus, he's already rebooted his campaign several times already. I think any message he had is getting muddled. At this point just killing the first debate may not be enough. He needs to get out there and get his plan on the table on what exactly he would do as president other than say he'll do the opposite of what Obama will do.

Sad thing is, I feel like a spinning record at this point. I'm saying the same things over and over, but it's because everything Romney has done these last few weeks keep him in the same situation, but make things slightly worse. It's like being unable to turn away from a train wreck. Except the train is full of clowns, and it's wrecking into a 747 full of Elvis impersonators.

meh he was trying to make a joke. they should quit trying to make it something that it's not.
jokes fall flat, people misspeak sometimes also. it's not anything to go all crazy about.
it's like Bush's "putting food on our children" or Obama's "57 states". it means nothing.

Gawker ranks up along with DailyKos and MediaMatters as lulZ R u SriouS?

Yeah, drop the airplane window thing, anything distracting from his "47% comment" is...distracting from his "47% comment". His campaign probably welcomes people making fun of his talking about opening airplane windows.

The debates are no longer a major factor in deciding this election. By time they take place, thousands of people will have already cast their ballots in several states--including some that are considered "battlegrounds".

"Election Day" will officially begin next week, not November.

Gawker has some good articles and writers but they are definately not where I go for political news, and I'm biased against Rmoney and the GOP

I know ive heard enough to make my decision. In this day and age with 24/7 connectivity i dont need to watch BS debates with soft questions to make my decision. After months and months of Romneys BS the debates wont help him.

I hate to say this, but...I'm actually tired of hearing about Mitt Romney. There's something incessantly boring about him, especially in the media. I'm ready for this process to wrap itself up so the media can focus on something else.

At least Sarah Palin brought humor and entertainment. This is like watching paint dry.

Romney's going to have to up the ante to get the Democrats off the 47% language. We're talking about transsexual hooker territory here.

I dunno, I'm kind of entertained. It's fun wondering what facepalm-worthy thing will happen next. Agreed, Palin was hilarious though.

I look at it like this: Palin was like a reality show crashing and burning that's why she was funny. Mittens is like dry British humor, not everybody gets but its still hilarious in its way. But he is def crashing and burning in his own right.

I fail to see the transsexual hooker connection but...yeah, the Romney campaign has failed to change the conversation. Even releasing the tax returns backfired on them; it drove the media (and people at large) to scrutinize his comments even harder.

Fail epic.

You have no sense of humor dude :funny:

Honestly, both fiscally and socially the Republicans suck from a libertarian POV(although you may argue the Republicans in theory are a slight improvement in the fiscal aspect over Democrats)

Not Bush, and from the sound of it Romney either.....far from it.

I did say slightly better(at least if you go by talking points, simple fact is both sides are terrible when it comes to spending for different reasons). lol

Ya know....I kind of like the bleeding heart liberal, we need them in our government.....and I like the hard nosed, fiscal conservative....I think we need them as well. I don't think we have those in our government any more that have good motives behind what they say and do.....sad.

True.... : /

Well Republicans slightly better financially until you factor in needless wars. lol

Right or wrong I fear if Romney wins we will find any excuse to go to war with Iran(they been pushing this for like 5-6 years now). To be perfectly honest I wouldn't be surprised if the military industrial complex has got itself so far up both sides butts if we go to war if Obama wins

Romney doesn't want a war with Iran but he can be easily bullied into taking action.
