Matt, do you have an theories as to why a half-cocked candidate like Trump's making the race difficult for the Democrats? It shouldn't, by any stretch of the imagination.

People who vote in elections on a whole aren't as ideological as the small minority who watch Fox News or MSNBC. Rubio wouldn't be struggling as much with those middle of the road voters like Trump is

Biden also has that sense of likability that many find lacking in Clinton.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you commented on the lack of likability of Clinton. She just isn't a strong candidate. She was basically anointed into the Senate by the NY Democratic Party boxing out her opponents in a state where a Democrat cannot lose. Everyone knew she only wanted to be in the Senate for the sake of seeking the presidency and ever since she has given off the vibe that she is entitled to it. That rubs voters the wrong way. She rubs voters the wrong way.

So it has made what should be a slam dunk year for Democrats a close race. Ironically, only because Trump made what should be a slam dunk year for Republicans against a weak candidate that the Democratic establishment erroneously thought was unbeatable into an almost certain defeat.
