Is there a problem with my inquiry? I think thats how he should sound. You know considering he was originally supposed to be The Question.

Yes. He is suppose to have an intense and gravely voice. Hence the distorted or edgy looking outlines of the word bubble. He speaks in a monotone Laurie says. And God, stop with the comparisons to Bale. I know it sorta sounds like him. But with Rorscach, he is suppose to sound like this.

Dude im not saying i think he sounds EXACTLY like Bale but that is what I thought of when i heard him. That isnt how i heard him reading the book. If you have heard The Question from JLU you will know what i heard in my head. Monotone doesnt mean Gravely and Intense, it means emotionless man. I just don't think this is what he should sound like TOO ME. His voice, too me, should sound just dead.

So? Everyone probably had thier own idea of what he would sound like, and obviously it cant match what everyone wanted. The voice they chose does, however, fit the character as well as the way it was described by other characters in the book. It also isn't far off from what Alan Moore himself sounded like when he voiced Rorschach. No english accent, obviously, but it's got that raspiness.

So Rorschach sounds pretty much how he's supposed to sound, sorry you imagined it wrong.

I was not arguing that you can't have your own version of the voice i was clarifying that I have a different voice in my head for him. There is no possible way I imagined it wrong, its my imagination and I chose how I wanted to hear him. Simple as that. I feel it fits the character but i would have prefered something closer to what I had. I can have a difference of opinion right?

Yeah, people are just seeing what they want to see because they want to hate it. :whatever:

Rusty, I'm sorry for not being the starry-eye you are (and want everybody to be the same).

But if those shiny and glittering gullibility stars are keeping you from seeing properly, that's with you.

I just said the make-up is wrong in his face, and others (very reasonable posters) see some other problems as well.

It's not about "hate". It's just discussing a movie.

If you don't like to read people discussing a movie, you're in the wrong place and, well, go out and buy some candies. :oldrazz:

When I reading Watchmen, Roarshach sounded like Capote.

I've hears the Question from JLU. He doesn't sound anything like Rorscach is suppose to sound. But Rorcach does have alot of pain in his voice. From past events. Even Moore spoke in the gravely voice. So there's your proof. The author himself speaks in the voice. And I'm not critisizing you or anything for the voice in your head. I just mean how he is suppose to sound.

Well i guess too each his own. I feel he should sound differently from what you think and vice versa. I think I'm just so happy the movie is happening i want it to be just like it was in my head. lol I should have known better!

When I went to see Quantam (which by the way I thought was amazing) I was upset to see no new Watchmen trailer attached, its ok though cause I have watched it probably 100 times on my computer, I havent been this psyched for something since TDK.

When the author himself makes the voice sound like that, I think it's pretty obvious what Rorschach was intended to sound like.

That doesn't mean you can't make up your own voice when you read WATCHMEN. God knows, when I read Batman comics, I don't hear Bale and his struggle to maintain or modulate a Batman voice.

Thats funny because when I read batman comics I always hear a voice thats more similar to Bale than Keaton or Conroy.

Whereas I don't hear voices at all when I read. Maybe you should see a doctor. :)

Hahaha! :woot: I have to say, that was pretty satisfying to read.

Not only do you have nothing to say in reply to my deconstruction of the paper-thin, groundless complaints about Jon, but you've resorted to telling me off. :oldrazz: (I like candies.)

I'm here to discuss the movie too, and I fully intend to continue doing so.

After watching the trailer numerous times last night.. I've come to two conclusions.

First, all the sad puppy Dr. M complains are BS. I could see how people would say that if the makeup dipped down directly under his eyes, but it doesn't.

And secondly, just as this year was essentially Joker themed, I'm betting next year will have a Rorschach theme. Inkblots all around.

i definitely see that coming

I hear Conroy when I read Batman in a comic. I probably always will. Bale is great as Batman, but in my head I will always hear Kevin Conroy.

Yeah when I read Batman comics I usually hear BTAS voices rather than from movies.

That's good news, I mean, that you want to start discussing the movie, at last. :cwink:

Because "telling off" is what you have been doing when the opinion is not so happy as yours on the adaptation. :oldrazz:

Rusty, Rusty.

Maybe a solution would be, whenever you feel you're in that "telling off" vein, you get your candies (you said you like it) and count to ten. :woot:

Same here. BTAS was how I was first introduced to Batman. So those great memories from the show and my first exposure to it will of course bring me back to those voices when I'm reading the comics.

I'm with you on this. I've never liked Batman having a "regular" voice like Conroy.
Im the same way. After hearing Bale's intense voice I could no longer go back to the calm voice on Conroy.

Hell yes...The Year of Rorschach! I expect Watchmen to do pretty well, though because of the R rating I don't know if it will do as well as TDK.
