Conker Creator Says That Rare IPs Returning To Nintendo Systems Is "Inevitable" | NintendoSoup

Conker’s Bad Fur Day creator, Chris Seavor, who worked at Rare under both Nintendo and Microsoft for almost 20 years, told Video Games Chronicle that he feels Rare’s classic IPs are better placed on Nintendo platforms.

“It is significant, very significant but it was also inevitable,” he said of the possibility that classic Rare IP could return to Nintendo platforms. “You only have to look at the reaction to Banjo’s appearing in Smash to see that this was purely a fan driven thing, and fans are if nothing else a noisy and belligerent bunch. I mean, it’s an abbreviation of ‘Fanatic’ after all.

“Whether they’ll be as loud about the other IP’s including Conker is up for debate… I’d say not likely.”

I can’t see them doing another Conker but a new Diddy Kong racing would be cute!

Oh right haha yeah I agree. I would love to see another Diddy Kong racing for example. Maybe they could even give characters from that game their own game like Drumstick?

So, thanks to an Amazon listing that disappeared, I think it is safe to assume a Direct is incoming.

I’m sure there is eventually haha. But it would be fun to hear a new announcement

We've got Direct Sign!!!

Nintendo Direct is Wednesday, at 6 pm EST. 40 minutes, so we are getting some good stuff, though it says the focus will be on Pokemon and Luigi's Mansion. Still, based on some leaks, I think we are getting some good stuff coming.

Cool! Can’t wait for the direct.

I reckon Overwatch would be a perfect fit for the switch. Interesting that Nintendo seems to be making serious inroads to the eSports sector recently. I wonder what they’re building to?

Honestly, the biggest thing that stood out to me was that they actually showed DMC 2. Like, you don't give that game prime Direct time, you announce it quietly, out back, out of site...

Also, Tom Nook, confirmed drug kingpin...

It was a wonderful direct, can’t wait to go camping in the world of Pokémon

Kind of see why Nintendo may have had issue with 8bitdo's SN30...

Back in July, Bandai Namco announced that the Nintendo Switch and PC would be getting Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition; securing a release date that would see the game launching on the 18th of October.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition is including the original Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth game — initially released in 2015 — and its 2017 sequel titled Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory; all in one convenient package that allows players to experience both stories.

Considering that we're only a bit over a month away from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition's release, Bandai Namco has shared a new trailer that gives us a bit of backstory in regards to Eden (the game's cyber world), and introduces us to both main characters.

Check it out:

With engaging storylines, classic turn-based battles, and tons of Digimon to collect, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: CompleteEdition delivers everything fans loved about Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory. Get the full experience with the Complete Edition which includes both titles in one!

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition will release for the Nintendo Switch and PC on the 18th of October.

so what's the deal with the Switch Lite? it's purely a handheld that can NOT be docked to a tv?

has there been any word on if a more powerful, docked Switch model will be released?

You pretty much answered your own question. That's exactly what it is. It's aimed more at kids.

8bitdo has a new controller.

Looks ideal for retro gaming, as it replaces the sticks with their excellent d-pads.

Borderlands 3
finally released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC almost two weeks ago.

As you can see, there's an absentee from the quartet of platforms and it's the Nintendo Switch. To this day, not a single Borderlands game has made its way onto Nintendo's handheld console. However, the creative director of the newest installment says that all hope isn't lost.

Recently, the first episode of The Borderlands Show debuted wherein hosts Greg Miller and Fran Mirabella when joined by Paul Sage. The pair of hosts would shoot quickfire questions at the creative director that came directly from the show's audience. An hour and twenty-one minutes in, a viewer asked about the chances of the Borderlands series making the jump to the Switch.

"Never say never," Sage replied. He's not the first person at Gearbox Software to admit that the looter-shooter series could come to the Switch as the studio's CEO said that he'd love for such a thing to happen back in April. Below you can check out the Gearbox CEO's tweet as well as the episode of The Borderlands Show in question.

I would love to see that happen.

Borderlands 3 is out now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

During this year's E3, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 were making their way into the Nintendo Switch at a yet-to-be-determined date this year; giving players the chance to experience these titles on a Nintendo console for the first time ever.

Capcom then revealed that Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 would both release at the same time, finally becoming available for the Nintendo Switch on the 29th of October; joining the previously released Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 4.

Today, Capcom has announced that pre-orders for both Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 have just become available; making players aware that demo versions of both games will also be released today on the Nintendo Switch eShop. As of this writing, however, neither show up on the eShop.

It is worth mentioning that Capcom has also announced that players who already own digital copies of Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, or Resident Evil 4 — on the Nintendo Switch — will also get a discount when they pre-order Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6.

Check it out:

While the Umbrella Corporation and its crop of lethal viruses have been destroyed and contained, a more dangerous threat has emerged. Somewhere in Africa, innocent villagers are transforming into aggressive and disturbing creatures. Featuring online and couch co-op, players can experience this Resident Evil classic as either Chris Redfield or his partner Sheva Alomar, as the duo works together to investigate and stop those responsible for the viral outbreak. Resident Evil 5 releases on Nintendo Switch this Fall.

Blending action and survival horror, Resident Evil 6 delivers an epic dramatic horror experience. Resident Evil favorites Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Ada Wong are joined by new characters, including Jake Muller, to face a new horror, the highly virulent C-virus, as the narrative moves between North America, the war-torn Eastern European state of Edonia and the Chinese city of Lanshiang.

Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 29th of October
