You all saying this stuff as if God has appeared in front of you, I saw those when the film came out...they're awesome and it wasn't done the way I thought it was done (Gollum)...but...

Y'know the more I think about it, 3 is just going to end with the characters right back where they were in 1 (save for

Norrington and Elizabeth's father are dead, so Elizabeth can become a full pirate without any guilt

and to me if the sequels fail to live up what we'll end up with are not only inferior sequels but the kind that detract from the greatness of the original (kind of like how X3 has sucked the life of quality out of X2 and X1).

Which makes me not want to see 4 then, really.

Come on you guys lets wait for Pirates 3 to come out before we say kill the franchise. I mean Pirates 1 was great. Pirates 2 was good. The best 2006 summer movie. Pirates 3 should be between great and good. I say give ita chance you guys. I mean anyone consider that Pirates 3 will rock and Spiderman 3 will suck.

The 5th is slowly creeping it way here. God I cant wait for the Pirates 2 dvd. Ohh and next summer its a wrap... Pirates 3 will kick all kinds of ass.

Disney said a few weeks back that there probably wouldnt be a teaser on the dvd.

Has anyone in region 2 or more specifically the U.K had problems with this? I've had two of them now both seem to skip right after Elizabeth gets the compass and it points to the chest in Tortuga. It both skips and the screen contorts and its been the same at the exact same point on both of the DVD's i got (I took the first one back). It doesnt effect the movie in any way it just annoys me and i'm wondering if all of the DVD's are faulty.

It doesn't sound like they are faulty; it sounds like your DVD player is if it is doing it with every single DVD you get of this. It probably is messing up because of the way Disney has burned the DVD. I still think it your dvd player

If you have a PS2 or an XBox 360 (or normal Xbox) or DVD player on your computer, try it in those.

It doesnt do it with ANY other of my 150 DVD's, just the POTC 2 ones of which i have had 2. I havent tried it in another DVD player yet but i think it is the DVD itself personally.

Yeah, which is why I said try the PotC in another DVD player, as the problem could be the way Disney burnt the discs. Try it in another DVD player...you're right on the account that it could be the DVDs, just not how you are thinking. Your DVD player might not be able to handle the discs, as they could have been burnt differently than your other 150. believe me, I know, I had this problem with the first season of charmed and my Xbox 360.

It does happen on dvd movies these slips and you may not be able to find a dvd that will not have that slight flaw. My point is though i'v never had skips but maybe slight pauses to another scene.

No i know what you are talking about, the slight pauses are the layer change as most modern Dvd's are dual layer. The thing i am talking about happens about 5 mins after the layer change

Have you tried it in a DVD player, yet, AVEITWITHJAMON?

And BloodyWolverine, Jamon is correct, most if not all DVDs have a layer change which causes a pause. Usually that information is on the back of the DVD cover. It's not blatant, but it's there (or should be hehe).

I went to BIG W today and they had the Pirates 2 DVD. I wanted to get it but mum said no, that it was too close to my birthday and Christmas. Fair enough, I said. But our DVD cover has a crappy '2' on the spine. It looks like it was put there just for ****s and giggles, it looks terrible, out of place and everything. Other than that, the cover is awesome.

The first movie is popular now, yet it is not the double-DVD...EzyDVD has it for the same price as the once disc...wtf

Anyway...Santa will get me the right copies...I hope...

They must be doing some reshoots and finishing it up. Ofcourse Spiderman has had three years to make Spiderman 3. Pirates 2 was this July. Good things come to those who wait. I refer to the trailer.

I wouldn't have high hopes for a teaser trailer.
Though it will be good. This may be a bit premature, but I love how people said that Dead Man's Chest and At Worlds End would be crap because they were shot back to back, like the Matrix sequels, and they said they would suck. HA! Dead Man's Chest was ****ing awesome...the third one should be good, too.

On a slightly unrelated note, I had a dream which was like an animatic that had Liz and Will on a boat sailing off, and then the Kraken's tentacles pushed down on them, and then they went sailing back to the black pearl (or some ship). It looked like an animatic, poor, quickly done, but it was absolutely bizarre.
