I don't know about any prequel stuff. I'd rather have the 4th Pirates film focus on the the journey to the Fountain of Youth or something along those lines.
Oh and can someone help me on the whole Flying Dutchman/Davy Jones/Heart in chest thing? Lemme see if I got this right:
- Sailor Davy Jones fell in love with the Goddess of the Sea, whom shortly after meeting him appointed him with the task of ferrying souls to the land of the dead (also granting him with immortality to complete said task).
- He took the job, knowing that he would have to be at sea for 10 years and only be able to see Calypso once every 10. He goes out at sea, and after the 10 years are up, he returns to find that Calypso was not there.
- Unable to bare the pain of losing the loved one, he carves out his own heart and places it in a chest and stashes it somewhere, while later contacting the 1st Brethren Court (which I suspect he was possibly a member of), convincing them to capture the sea Goddess and trap her soul within a human form.
- After that is done, he steers away from his job of soul ferrying and because of this transforms into a monster and he begins this reign of terror on the sea (seeing as how he can't do it on land, I'm guessing).
My question is....where was it written that whoever becomes the new captain of the Flying Dutchman has to remove his own heart? Davy (apparently) carved out his own heart years later after being the captain.....so does that mean he just started the whole "Dead Man's Chest Curse" or something?
