Delay next gen consoles until 2030 for all I care. It takes PS5 games long enough to produce, we're not ready for PS6 yet.

Would there be a demand for PS6 when its announced later this year for fall 2027?

It doesn't feel like its been 5 years since the ps5 was released because there aren't so many big games, which dampens the excitement/intrigue for the next console. Like we are still waiting for GTA VI, Naughty Dog hasn't released a new game exclusive for the Ps5 that isn't a remaster or remake, a lot of franchises have only released 1 mainline game in this generation, etc...

PS6 doesn't need to be announced, unless you only buy the newest console just because then the ps5 has barely had a lifespan, ignoring the obvious cost problems that I think a lot of people are having I just don't think there's much point to it.

Just because it'll have been 7 years since the PS5 released in 2027 doesn't mean that the PS6 needs to come out then. There were 7 years in between the PS4 and PS5 and before that there were 7 years between PS3 and PS4. That doesn't have to be the norm though. There were 6 years between PS2 and PS3 and 5 between PS1 and PS2. Console windows have changed with the times and can again, this time for the longer.

I think consoles need more time to cook between releases anyways. The jump in improvement from PS1 to 2 to 3, etc. keeps getting smaller and smaller every generation. Give the PS5 another few years while the technology innovates enough to justify $1000 for a console (because I honestly don't see them going for less with everything going on).

Sony has to release them one way or another. I think Sony could wait until Q4 2028. 2029 and beyond, thats just unlikely.

i hope they manage to include ps1, 2, 3 compatibility and please add a CD reader! I bought a lot of music cds in the last two years.
