unfortunately, for games that have online multiplayer, like Battlefront, you need to sub to PS+ to play the online portion.

online multiplayer was free on the PS3, but not on the PS4.

If you don't want to use your credit card and subscribe monthly, you can buy prepaid PS+ sub cards at your local game stores, grocery stores, etc.

In the US, I think it's $18 for 3 months and $50 for 12 months.

Ah right, thanks for the info, I won't be playing online until the end of the month then, there is a 2 day free trial I may try in the next few weeks,

just read the fine print on those 2 day trial deals.

make sure it won't start charging your card the monthly sub fee after the trial period if that's not something you want to do.

Figured out what was wrong with getting my PS4 hooked to the internet, it was the network I connected to, a guest network of our usual. I'd tried ours but it didn't work five or so time in a row so I got it to connect to the guest one. But that one is haywire or whatever and doesn't actually have net. Got it hooked to the usual network though

Took the weekend to try that free trial, then got a three month sub to PS+ on Monday. I've only done online for MKX and its pretty damn fun, I've lost all but 30 matches but its fun as hell.

^^glad you got your problem resolved, sabetoonth! :)

Thanks! I derped so hard with that. I should have remembered the problems we had with it before, but it was the only one I'd actually connect to at the time, lol.

Nitroplus Blasterz launches February 2 in North America

XSEED Games releases new gameplay trailer.

NPBHID-Feb-2-NA.jpg

Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel will launch for PlayStation 4 via retail and digitally, and PlayStation 3 digitally on February 2 in North America, XSEED Games announced.

On PlayStation 4, the game carries a suggested retail price of $39.99, and on PlayStation 3 a suggested retail price of $29.99.

In Europe, the game is planned for release in early 2016.

As previously announced, early adopters of the game will receive two downloadable characters—Homura from Senran Kagura and Aino Heart from Arcana Heart free of charge for the first four weeks following launch. On March 1, both characters will be available for $5.99 each or for $9.99 as a bundle.

XSEED also released new information and a gameplay trailer:

[YT]0BP7iu9xXR4[/YT]
After selecting a main character, players will duke it out while charging up the abilities of their two chosen Partners, who – once called into the fight – will contribute with battle damage and various other effects. As the combatants exchange blows, their Power Gauge builds at the bottom of the screen. Filling this gauge meter by meter, up to a maximum of three, the players will then gain access to devastating abilities, including character-specific super moves and a massively powerful “Lethal Blaze” attack that deals incredible damage but costs all three meters.
The trailer also details the game’s innovative “Blast” system, which provides players with the option to use one of three special tide-turning maneuvers once per round, such as creating distance between the player character and her opponent, breaking an opponent’s combo, and extending a player’s combo beyond normal limits. Additionally, a player’s health and meters both begin regenerating once the Blast state has been activated.
Between easy-to-execute combos, cinematic cut-ins on “Lethal Blaze” attacks that run the gamut from awe-inspiring to adorable, and assist mechanics that allow for up to six on-screen characters at a time, the development team at Examu ensures that combat in Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel stays fast and flashy. The game is populated by numerous heroines from the visual novel company Nitroplus’ rich collection of IPs, including playable characters Ein, Mora, Ruili, Al Azif, Saya, Ignis, Anna, Muramasa the 3rd, Kibanohara Ethica, Saber, and Ouka, as well as fan favorite mascot character Super Sonico, who will be playable in Nitroplus Blasterz for the very first time via this console release. Players can also test how their skills stack up online against other network players, with full cross-play compatibility on offer between PS4 and PS3 system players.

Grand Kingdom coming west this summer

NIS America localizing Spike Chunsoft strategy title.

Grand-Kingdom-West-Summer-2016.jpg

NIS America is bringing Grand Kingdom, Spike Chunsoft’s new tactical RPG launched November in Japan from Grand Knights History director Tomohiko Deguchi and studio MonoChro, to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America and Europe in summer 2016.
“We are very excited to be partnering with NIS America to localize and release Grand Kingdom in the West,” Spike Chunsoft CEO Mitsutoshi Sakurai said in a press release. “Danganronpa has seen great success with NIS America so far, and we are confident that they will also do the best job of bringing the experience we envisioned for Grand Kingdom to fans. We hope that fans all over the world will support us and enjoy this new game as well..”
Here’s an overview, via NIS America:
After the fall of the once-prosperous Uldein Empire over one hundred years ago, the Four Great Nations now wage war to claim dominion over the Resonail continent. Battles are no longer fought by honorable knights loyal to a nation, but by mercenaries who sell their services to the highest bidder.
As the leader of a mercenary squad, the player will lead their troops across a battle-scarred continent, overcoming obstacles and adversaries as they complete quests doled out by each nation. In doing so, they will unravel the mystery behind the downfall of a mighty empire.
With an impressive battle system that combines fast-paced action with strategic planning, and featuring robust character creation and customization options, Grand Kingdom is a Tactical RPG the likes of which has never been seen before. Assemble a squad of mercenaries, form an exclusive contract with one of the Four Great Nations, and participate in war with other players online for the future of Resonail.
But remember- in this new age of war, there is only room for one Grand Kingdom.

Captain Levi Walks Us Through The Four Game Flow Steps of Attack on Titan. January 15, 2016 . 4:00am

Koei Tecmo’s official website for the upcoming Attack on Titan game has a new feature called “Teach me, Captain Levi,” which gives us a look at the four steps of game flow for the action game.

Koei Tecmo’s official website for the upcoming Attack on Titan game has a new feature called “Teach me, Captain Levi,” which gives us a look at the four steps of game flow for the action game.

Step 1:

[YT]dUkt5iILVC4[/YT] At Camp you’ll get to have conversations with different characters as you work your way through the episodes. The Camp is your base of operations and you’ll get to see several other characters hanging out here as well. This is also the place where you upgrade weapons, prep items, and get ready for the next part.

Step 2:

[YT]W0M5NL3_hxM[/YT] The next part is where an event scene starts, followed by the battle. The game has events that are depicted in high-quality graphics, so you’ll get to re-experience numerous famous scenes. Just look at Levi go!

Step 3:

[YT]DvVGmVBnEl8[/YT] There are all kinds of happenings going on at the battlefield that must be taken care of to ensure victory. While going out to do just that, you’ll also need to fight Titans. Since it can be dangerous out there, you’ll need to analyze the situation and decide on your next steps from here. You’ll see sub-missions during battles, get help from powerful allies, and also acquire important items.

Step 4:

[YT]0jBRH2VGdDc[/YT] After battle, you’ll get to check out the main event scene, then head back to camp. The game follows the flow of these four steps and repeats until the main story is cleared.

Finally, here’s a look at some of the latest screenshots showing off the Armored Titan and Beast Titan:

Getting Better Acquainted With Nitroplus Blasterz’ Super Sonico, Ethika, and Al Azif. January 21, 2016 . 1:30pm

There are 14 women joining the fight in Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroine Infinite Duel,

and Sonico, Al Azif, and Ethika are rather notable figures.

Nitroplus’ Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel has quite a few unfamiliar faces in it. Most of the cast come from various visual novels released by the company and, given the adult nature of some of them, people might not know who’s participating in this fight.

While she’s one of the most recognizable characters in Nitroplus Blasterz, Super Sonic might be a little unfamiliar to people overseas. We haven’t had the same exposure, due to none of her games officially reaching our shores just yet. (This will change with JAST’s localization of SoniComi.) Sonico is a multimedia star, who acts as a model and singer. Aside from SoniComi for Windows PCs and the PlayStation 3, she’s also appeared in the Nintendo 3DS game SoniPro, manga, and an anime series.

Super Sonico’s Nitroplus Blasterz attacks tap into two elements of the heroine’s life. First, she loves cats. As such, she’s followed by a group of them and has them aiding in her attacks. She’s also a singer and guitarist for First Astronomical Velocity. As seen in this match between mag-magu-jack and phantomile0110. It looks like Suzu Fujimi, the group’s lead singer and bassist, and Fuuri Watanuki, the group’s drummer, leap in at about the 23 second mark, with Suzu showing up again at 1:24 to join an attack with the cats.

[YT]T_HCFt5ctEk[/YT]

Another Nitroplus Blasterz fighter is Ethika Kibanohara. She’s one of the main heroines in Tokyo Necro, Nitroplus’ 15th anniversary project. This young woman is one of the Private Special Living Dead Stalkers who helps fight the undead and their necromancer controllers. An adept user of martial arts, she’s also known for using her Rabbit Punch, AA-24 custom shotgun, and AK-50 Kalashnikov assault rifle to take down anyone in her way. Both guns have bayonets attached to them, by the way.

All of this makes her a natural for a fighting game. Ethika is practically a living weapon already. She’s a very hands-on fighter in Nitroplus Blasterz, but also seems to take great delight in using her guns in the game. The bayonets also come in quite handy, as she uses them to fling her opponents around the stage.

[YT]XAQnGWcRigY[/YT]

Al Azif, from Demonbane, is a rather unique individual who ends up being rather important to Nitroplus Blasterz’s story. She’s also one of the few characters people might recognize, given JAST localized the PC version of Demonbane and Crunchyroll has the anime series with English subtitles online. Though, Al Azif isn’t really a person. Rather, she’s the Necronomicon, a grimoire fighting the Black Lodge. Al Azif and Kurou use Demonbane, a Deus Machina mech, to fight unholy forces.

Being both a grimoire and gun-wielder, Al Azif makes the most of this in Nitroplus Blasterz. She works very well at a distance with her weapons. She has a number of fire-based, supernaturall attacks. Also, she’s able to summon Cthugha, the Great Old One as part of her attacks. Her strongest special summons Demonbane to the battlefield, while her victory pose has Kurou, her Master, appearing by her side.
