The Official PSN Store Update Thread

Awesome I was interesting in both Binary Domain and Dragons Dogma! And Strangers Warath for Vita! I got it on PS3 but now it looks like I will have something more to enjoy when I get a Vita. :)
 
I didnt realize Sine Mora was a PS3 title as well. I thought it was strictly Vita.

Dont really care for the retail PS3 offerings this month but glad about Ibb and Obb. Everyone should play that as the demo for it was great.
 
It is sweet to be getting two retail PS3 games, several PSN titles, and two awesome Vita titles. It is pretty good but I don't know about best ever....
 
The best ever was the original! But if we are just counting updates since then, the one in June to coincide with E3 and 1 year anniversary was the best. I mean, Uncharted 3, Saints Row 3, X-Com, LBP Racing, Machinarium and Deus Ex, was by far the best update we got. It'll be hard to top that one. That was huge.
 
I gotta say PSN was really disappointing sales wise this Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. I remember them being really good last year, but maybe I'm crazy. They had a handful of games available as a "Flash" sale, which to me implied they would change every so often but didn't, and nothing else otherwise

The only thing I bought was Persona 4 Golden, but that was already on sale for the weekly deals.

Could someone explain a few things to me please about PSN/PS+?

1 - If I create and sign up to an account on my PS3 can I use the same account on a PS VITA?

2 - If I can use the account on both devices can I download games simultaneously on both devices?

3 - Once I download a game on either device does it stay on the device's storage permanently or is it only playable through PSN / whilst I have an active PSN account?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address of right here...

1. Yes. Your PSN account works on PS3, PS4, and Vita. When you buy PS+ for your account it works on all three platforms.
2. Yes. You can start downloading on any of them at any time.
3. Downloaded games are on the storage. They are also linked to your PSN account, so you can always delete and re-download it.

1 - Yes you can use the same account. Your account goes across PS3/PS Vita/PS4

2 - I don't have a Vita(yet) myself but I imagine you should be able to. I can do it with the PS3 and PS4 at the same time so...yeah it should be possible.

3 - Its on your storage permanently for you to play once downloaded unless you delete it. Any game you purchased will never expire and don't need to be signed in to play (unless its a multiplayer game or something). As long as youre playing on the console you downloaded it to you can play indefinitely with the exception of Plus games which renew at the same time your Plus subscription does and expires if your Plus subscription does.

Thanks guys....liking Sony more and more....can you just explain to me 'Plus' and what thats all about? is PS+ different to PSN?

For PS4, PS+ is required for online mutiplayer(not required for PS3 and Vita). PS+ is basically a Premium PSN membership, its really added benefits to using PSN. You get free games monthly for PS3, PSVita, PS4, and sometimes PS Classics and PSP games. You also get a decent amount of game data to upload to the cloud and other benefits like automatic updates. The best benefit is the free games, I think its worth it. My backlog is huge because of the Plus service and it feels great as I always have something to play not to mention the about 30 games I will have to play when I get a Vita.

Its a paid service, but you don't need it to play PS3 and Vita games online.

See thats what im wanting to get....do those free games download to your storage or do they erase if your PS+ account expires? Do you get free games with PSN? How much are both?

When your Plus account expires those games don't disappear but they can't be played when you try to play them. Yes you get free games with PSN, what you get varies by month and Plus members also gets good discounts on sales.

I'm not sure what you mean by how much are both but for Plus 3 months is 17.99 and a year is 49.99.
 
So PSN is free and gets you free games? Or is Plus an extension of PSN which gets you the free games?
 
Ah so on PSN thats where you can play online and download paid for games? And PS+ gets you discount on paid games and free games but you have to be a PS+ member to play the free games? Is that right?

wahey!!!!! that wasnt difficult or laboured at all much (on my part) ((sarcasm))....bet it was like pulling teeth getting me to understand that....and yet its such a simple concept....
 
Yeah, Guacamelee is the standout this week, for me. I've been waiting for it to go on sale for awhile now.

Today is the last day to get Spelunky for $3.75 so everyone should get on that too.
 
when people wonder about the value of Plus, well 75% off games makes it worth it. You cant beat that except if they give stuff out for free, which they do as well
 
Apparently these are the first Plus games in NA for the new year

Vita: Smart as; Worms Battle Islands
PS4: Don't Starve
PS3: DmC, Bioshock Infinite, Brothers

January is going to be a GOOD month
 
Dammit, I just got DMC and Bioshock Infinite. Well at least I only paid $10 for them each. :o

But in all seriousness, anyone who doesn't see just how valuable PS + has been is truly blind.
