Rothman is co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment with Jim Gianopulos.

Under Rothman's watch, Twentieth Century Fox has met criticism for having their blockbuster films (e.g. the Fantastic Four and X-Men films) run under two hours in order to fit in more theater showings and for, under his tenure, greenlighting less cerebral films in favor of films with more commercial appeal.

Also as Bamfer said he is also recognized as the Devil.

gonna take a guess he came in around the year 2000 cause that seemed like the movies went south.

I dont think so, this movie is so messed up in so many levels, it has so many plot holes, it has so bad acting, mediocre fighting, non existent character development, no nothing that it deserves a 1 only because of the score done by Brian Tyler. Thats the only thing acceptable about this movie, the score. Because everything else is garbage. So 1/10 is well deserved and legit.

As lame as it sounds, when I went to rate the movie I found out I already voted. I was shocked to see a ten.

I really really didn't rate it a ten. How utterly embarrassing to have me down for that.

You voted it a 1 though just like I did. I do agree that there are worse movies out there. As a DB film, this is easily a 1/10. As a action film, it's more like a 5/10.

I rated it a 10 because People rated it a 1 and its at least 3 or 4...1 is just silly...Killer Clowns from OuterSpace is a 1 not DB:E

Nah...I think a 1 is fair. I find it silly to give Killer Clowns a 1 because that movie was meant to be cheesy and it also had a lower budget. Two completely different movies really.

This movie is a 1 because I can find movies ten years ago or even twenty that surpass it in acting, choreography, editing, action, dialogue, and casting.

It failed in every aspect possible. we are in 2009 and according to todays standards it's a 1. Killer Clowns was closer to its era and at the time it wasn't as bad as what Dragon Ball is, budget wise and any other way. According to the times We have asian martial art movies that surpass the norm and even in America we have movies that destroy dragon ball evolution. Speed racer was never known for it's martial arts but it phenominal car chases nor X men, but the action in all the X men movies and Speed Racer surpass DRAGON BALL??!!!! I thought the soul purpose of the show was to show case the styles and the FIGHTS yet this hardly even competes with MORTAL KOMBAT. Even Van Damme Street Fighter had better fights and that movie was a travesty. In 2009 no action movie based on martial arts should have fights that are less impressive than these U.S. titles. Either The Matrix, Equilibrium, Mortal Kombat, Kill Bill, Bourne Ultimatum, Enter The Dragon, Forbidden Kingdom, Unleashed, Blade, Universal Soldier, FAMILY GUY...LOL even that has better fights.

Was it that hard to get at least the fights to be revolutionary???? If they can make Keanu Reeves have some of the best fights in Hollywood history then ANYONE can. Yes Yuen Ping is a phenom in choreography but there are a lot more who can do bad ass fight direction too. The girl fight in crouchng tiger alone owns this entire movie. Johnny Cage vs Sorpian in Mortal Kombat owns this entire movie.

I'm even gonna go and say that Twilight (the chick flick) MURDERS Dragon Ball Evolution. Damn it was BAD!!!!!!

Honestly it is probably in the top ten worst comic book adaptations of ALL TIME. Up there with Barb Wire, Phantom, The straight to DVD Crow movies, Captain America, Blade Trinity, Howard the Duck, Batman and Robin, The Mask 2. Yea BAD!!!!!! I am not exagerating.

Those who say F4 was as bad as this forget that the human torch alone owns all the carisma in this movie combined.

If anyone on Rotten Tomatoes gives this a good review they have been paid by FOX.

If people can find something good about the movie and fight it out/debate it, then I say power to them.
Likewise, if someone can enjoy the movie, then who are we to scream like babboons that they movie sucks and because of that, their taste sucks. Different taste is horrible?

I am neither a pessimist or a fanboy and I thought the movie was awful. It fails on all accounts from acting to story. If anyone can enjoy it it would purely be on guilty pleasure (ie. its so bad it is good).

i remember watching one of Bruce Lee's interviews and him talking about how it's so hard to find roles in America because he had to be American enough for Americans, but Chinese enough for the Chinese. he then went on to talk about how he hopes that he can open the doors for Asians in Hollywood.

then i thought about Dragon Ball and how utterly offended Bruce Lee would've been if he were alive today. despite many Westerners preferring to think of Goku as looking like a Caucasian, it's pretty obvious to most DB fans that Goku was intended to have the appearance of an Asian. this kind of casting done by Fox really is a slap in the face to Bruce Lee's cause, especially considering Chatwin has no real experience with martial arts.
 
I can't believe that for two martial arts heavy franchises, Fox didn't cast actual martial artists. The Legend of Chun Li had Robin Shou, but just one guy isn't enough.

If they were already making these movies incredibly cheap, then why not save a little more money, and get some martial artists? If we already have to endure bad actors, at least give us bad actors that can fight.
 
nathan i agree.
i said it in the SF thread. kreuk is a bad actor. so why not cast a bad actor that knows martial arts? its not like Kreuk has such a big fanbase that it would automatic make a lot of money.

but this is FOX.there is no logic in their decisions. its just so strange.
