The Official SDCC Coverage Thread

Like I said, some people like crap. Remember?
Well I like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Or maybe some of us just don't give a damn for the opinions of others.

Heh, I'd say there are plenty of those people who go to the con that are like that (I'd be included, were I actually going :oldrazz:).

Ropeofsilicon has apparently obtained WB's official comic con lineup(Credit to narrows101 for the lead). There's no sign of Superman or any other films based on DC Comics besides Watchmen (though that does look like a great panel).:(

What is your evidence that SR split the fanbase? This web-site? Please Mega Joe, once again your logic is flawed, most fans of the FF loved the first movie, yet was it a good movie? Empireonline, Totalfilm.com, Bluetights.net, SR movie is well loved on ALL of these web-sites and more, not to mention this thread:

http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=278890

How strange, a movie so hated is coming SEVENTH in the 'BEST COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER' thread, my god, the FAN BASE IS TRULY SPLIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the fact of the matter is you are stating SR is crap as a fact, when it clearly isnt, its an OPINION. This ******** about people who like SR like crap is exactly that, ********, your Superman isnt everyone's, your tastes arent everyones, i happily admit when a movie i like is crap, but SR is GREAT IMO and many other peoples opinions.

Enjoy your time off. Hopefully the old Mega Joe comes back, not the arrogant one i am currently debating with.

LOL, no cursing my friend. :woot:

Thanks Retro. I just wonder what the cut off is for us to hear something official on MOS. Are we going to be sitting here in January of 09 still creating hypothetical scenarios that WB will announce MOS on such and such date and that it's only around the corner?

Maybe they just haven't gotten everything together? Not annoucing it at the SDCC doesn't mean that they aren't going to announce it at all.

Retro....there wouldn't be a panel for MOS, it is a movie coming out in 2010?

There isn't going to be some huge announcement with pomp and circumstance, see Marvel's approach.

Retro I wouldn't be worried.
The WB's lineup is like the official lineups of the software houses before the E3.
In these list you can read only the announced games, the scoops and news announcements come with the conferences.

Exactly.

When WB announces the sequel, expect it to be a very simple "by the numbers" press release (i.e. title confirmed, release date, who the writer is, Bryan and Brandon returning, etc.) They did the exact same thing with The Dark Knight and The Hobbit.

And really at this time we have no clue if wb is going to be going with singer still for mos or if they are going to do a reboot. There has been alot of talk on sites were wb is looking at possibly doing reboot for superman. So at this time we have to see what wb decides to go with. Reboot or continue with what singer started(personally i rather go reboot and i dont really want to get into the whole issue with folks who hated SR and those who loved it).

I haven't seen any talk on any major movie site that WB is looking for a reboot, nor have I seen any talk in any of the trades such as Variety or HR that WB is looking for a reboot of Superman. WB was previously looking for a reboot, and Variety even pointed to such, but then said they are no longer pursuing this. Where have you seen news on a possible reboot?

Thursday, July 24 SDCC schedule posted.

Don't listen to him Show. He's one of those Archangel supporters. :whatever: That's where he got that info from. Archangel is the one who told them about the 4 reboots thing.

Ugh. Enough with Archangel and SaveSuperman.com crap. I'm getting sick of their crap and trying to get an attention. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Does anyone know, or have you heard, anything about prominent DC panels at SDCC. I wasn't really planning on attending any this year, but maybe some industrious soul will ask a question about Superman...

Does anyone know if Bruce Timm will be there? I don't want to talk to Synder if he's there. Are there any animation panels? LOL...I could go to the site and find this out, but I figure someone here has to know

Really? When I went last year (my first time), I was freezing my butt off and would have to periodically wander outside so I could sun myself like a lizard. SO FRIGGIN COLD. :o

But I'm always cold, so...yeah. 75 is pretty much the perfect temperature for me, and I think most people would consider that pretty darned warm. :oldrazz:

Sorry, I was looking through this thread trying to see what panels might appear and I just seen this.

I didn't go to SDCC last year, but I've gone for the past five and that convention place can never be warm enough for me. The first problem is the long ass hike from either the train station or the parking lots. Then the long ass wait in the line to get in. After that...I think I am eternally hot!

75 is the perfect temp, but not with thousands of folks breathing on you, bumping into you, standing next to you...etc. Then the humidity...

LOL...are you from the South? :woot:

I hope not. The lack of concrete news and statements is really getting annoying.
Retro....there wouldn't be a panel for MOS, it is a movie coming out in 2010?
Yeah i know i should have known better i was hoping for too much. I mean even the likes of GI Joe, Star Trek, Transformers and Wolverine won't have panels at this year's con.
Retro I wouldn't be worried.

Then they need to hurry up and release this list. Other studios are already nabbing dates their 2010 tentpoles.

Detailed schedules for the SDCC have been posted to the SDCC website. Happy reading.

Besides Paul Levitz and Gregory Noveck (DC's ' Man in hollywood') there's one interesting name appearing at the Con who could give us a tidbit on the next superman movie....Robert Meyer Burnett. He's friends with Singer and has produced most of his dvds (incl directing the SR blogs) and was even present to videotape Singer signing his contract to direct the SR sequel.

Programming for Thursday, July 24

3:00-4:00 DVD/Blu-ray Producers 2008— Bill Hunt, Todd Doogan, and Adam Jahnke (The Digital Bits.com, Geek Monthly) discuss the latest DVD and Blu-ray Disc developments and look ahead at upcoming releases. Panelists include Javier Soto (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy II: The Golden Army), Charles de Lauzirika (Blade Runner, Twin Peaks), Andy Mangels (The Real Ghostbusters, Slimer), Cliff Stephenson (Rambo, Crank 1 & 2), and Robert Meyer Burnett (Shoot ’Em Up, Free Enterprise 2). There will be lots of Q&A, so be sure to bring your questions! Room 5AB

It appears they may not be making MOS at all, so I think Burnett wont have much to say

It was a good one too. Took me a minute to get it.
&%$#@*! Showtime.:D
