The Official Spider-Man 3 Runtime thread!

On DVD the PAL release of the film will be 4% shorter than the Region 1 version (well technically the NTSC version).

The picture quality on the PAL version will be better too, such is the vagaries of putting a 24 fps format into 50Hz and 60Hz.
I see what you're saying, but that doesn't mean that the movie is "SHORTER" (like there's stuff beeing CUT OUT of it)... But there is something different in the timing-clock, depending on wether or not it's PAL or region1's NTSC!... I live in Denmark, and I have the Batman Begins dvd (and we run with PAL-system). The movie is 2:22, yet when it's finished it reads 2:11 on my dvd-player! It's just the way it works.

2 hours 20 minutes.

2 hours, 36 minutes simply means thus - trailers, pre-show, extra crap.

2 hours 20 minutes is also the runtime of Batman Begins which all of you supposedly adore.

Film of the month
It's been a long time coming, but Spider-Man 3 finally hits cinemas on May 4. The release date for this blockbuster was set way back in 2004, even before Spider-Man 2 had been released. So is it worth the wait? Of course it is! Our hero Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) has finally managed to strike a happy balance between his love for Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) and his responsibilities as a crime-fighting super-hero. So what could possibly go wrong? A brand new super-villain, that's what.

During a prison escape, nasty Flint Marko (a scary-looking Thomas Haden Church) is transformed into the wicked Sandman, so called because he can change his body into any shape of sand he sees fit. Naturally, Spider-Man's out to stop him - at first. But then - eek! - a strange dark substance turns his super-hero suit black (don't you just hate it when that happens?), and a new, darker side to his personality emerges. So will Spidey cling to the straight and narrow - or transform himself into an evil villain?

The story's many twists and turns take up a slightly bum-numbing 156 minutes, but hopefully you'll be too wrapped up in the story to notice. If nothing else, you can sit back and enjoy the chemistry between one-time lovers Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire. And when things look really black for our super-hero, it might be worth bearing in mind Kirsten's words from a few years back: 'Why doesn't the super-hero ever die? I think if Mary Jane was alone, pregnant and he died, she could give birth to a Spider-Baby and carry on the series with another young boy.' Oooh - there's a vote of confidence for you, Tobey.

Also out this month is Alpha Dog, a hard-hitting drama based on the life of Jesse James Hollywood, a drug dealer who became one of the youngest men ever to be on the FBI's most wanted list. A gang of deeply unlikeable wannabe thugs kidnaps a rival's little brother in order to force repayment of a debt. So far, so run of the mill; but what may get you rushing to the cinema to see this is the fact that it stars a very muscly, very tattooed Justin Timberlake. Huh, that got you interested, didn't it?

:word: :hyper:

Does that include the opening and ending credits?

Well, I don't know that, but hope not.

There is some interesting information in Finnish movie website.

Look at this website. When it starts at 17.45 it will end at 20.16. There is 2 hours 31 minutes. Those 10 minutes can include opening and ending credits, so the movie without credits could be 2 hours 20 minutes.

But those 10 minutes can be advertisements too.

Well, it's hard to say anything sure.

Finnkino says 2 h 21 min
