I have a question for you guys. I've never been to an Imax theatre, and I'm planning on going for the first time for SpiderMan 3. My question is, should I see SpiderMan for the first time in an Imax or a regular theatre? Cause people told me you kinda feel uncomfortable after 2 hours in the Imax, you're like looking up or something, I don't know. I wanted to know what do you recommend :/

I think Imax still has that crap 4:3 screen instead of widescreen so they have to crop the movie to fit. It's like watching a movie on a huge TV screen and really ruins the effect. I would just go to a regular theater.

IMAX is overated (or so I've heard!)... Shouldn't be something you would wanna view the big films in when seeing it for the first time! Stick to NORMAL theaters, that you know what is!

I'm assuming the 2 hour 36 minute running time just means with the trailers and pre-show crap.

Honestly, I think 2 hours 20 minutes is the perfect length for this movie. And it shows that we aren't going to get some hacked up, chopped up so-called "bigger, better" movie like we were promised with X-men 3 and didn't get.

I still want to know where the lies about the X-men 3 running time came from. When the SHH mods were giving out a false running times from contacts at Fox, well that seems pretty shady to me.

I agree with TheVileOne, 2 hours and 36 minutes seems to be right for the whole movie including the trailers before the movie even starts...because that's the same time it says on moviefone.com, and moviefone always includes the movie and the pre-movie trailers with the whole running time.

But I wanna say this also: Spider-Man ended at like 1 hour and 56 minutes not including credits...Spider-Man 2, at 1 hour and 56 minutes, Harry Osborn finally sees Norman and then finds out Norman's Goblin Lair...and that movie ended at around 2 hours and 2-3 minutes...so, roughly around that time, 122-123 minutes, I believe that'll be the time when Peter goes to the church to take off the symbiote.

If it is indeed 2 hours, 20 minutes without the credits, holy crap.

But basically, if the movie is that long, come the Monday of May 7th, I don't want to hear crap like, "WAH THE MOVIE WAS TOO LONG!" After everyone complaining for so long about how long and epic they wanted this movie to be, speculating that the movie would be too short as well.

Yeah IMDB or who ever was saying 2 hours 36 min., 156 minutes. Which is most likely the running time at most theaters with the pre-show, trailers, etc.

2 hours 20 minutes is most likely the actual running time of the film.

I think it's better if the movie is 139 minutes rather than 156 minutes. That way, theaters can fit in more showings in a day. Plus, if it's too long, then people wouldn't like it (Grindhouse was like 3 hours and I heard people complaining about the length of the movie).

Yea but look at Lord of the Rings. Those are very long movies, everyone praised and, of course in the box office they did quite well.

People complain but length anymore does not ruin a movie, if it is too short thats when people complain.

I hated how long King Kong was. I fell asleep about half way through the movie. Lord of the Rings had much more action so I think everyone was pumped throughout the films.

Yep, but that guy must've been WRONG! We just got CONFIRMATION from the -British Board of Film Classification- that the film is 2hrs.&19min!!! It's settled! and that lentgh is a GOOD one.

Look at Pirates of the Carribbean 2. 2 hours 30 minutes long. Made more money than both of the first 2 Spider-man films.

i know its a bit early.. but.. will there be an exended cut like sp2 has? Then maybe some lines like "WE ARE VENOM!" can be added in and stuff. Idk. Just an idea. A bit early to be thinking that though.

If you hear people complain about the length of Grindhouse again, tell them they are idiots. It's billed as a double feature, of course it's going to be long. It's 2 movies.
