The Official Spider-Man 3 Video Game Thread with Trailer [merged 2x]

Rhino. And What second fight with Sandman? I only remember fighting him in the trainstation before he goes all megaSandman.

And how's the fight with the big Lizard cooler? What's the difference?

Oh that is another advantage to PS3 version/360. You get to ride the "skystick" as New Goblin and stick it to sandy. When he gets really big instead in the Wi iversion you are Spider-Man and have to use your spider-sense dodging movements to avoid his giant sand and throw 4 or 5 (I can't remember) explosive barrells of dynomite into him and then Harry blows Sandy up with a pumpkin bomb, but in the process Venom webs Harry and rodeos him into the sand monster and he blew up with Sandy's body.

The mechaLizard fight differs in that you use motions to dodge after the first two tricks into the power converters and you use the nunchuck and wiimote (if I remember correctly) to steer him left to right like you're riding a bull into the two remaining power grids. It is just as frustrating as the 360 version (and Kingpin in 360) but slightly more fun...at first, anyway.

Ah. Eh, I can do without that. The second Sandman fight in particular because Spider-man never actually fought giant Sandman anyway and playing the New Goblin is muuuch more fun.

Just wish I could find pics or videos of Morbius and Shriek online.

I was really disappointed with the 360 version.

I honestly thought it would be just as good as #2 on the PS2.

I traded it in today. :csad:

I had #2 for like a month. I LOVED that game.

But I beat the game, didn't think it was that bad (The main stories)

Anyone find Harry's lair in the 360 version? It's so awesome!

:wow:

Really? I think it's so damn good. Alot of good improvements.

I almost threw the controller down during the first "defuse the subway bombs" mission. I couldn't crawl under the car at all or anything.

Man, I think it was one of the coolest levels. There are so many places and things to can do. Keep playing! I found Harry's lair, with all the Goblin gear. :woot:

How do you find these pleaces?! I've been to Pete's place like twice and haven't been able to find it since. I wish there were actual street signs. :( Is the butler there? I wonder if I can go back to Kingpin's penthouse (very good job done on that by the way). Maybe confront him again or at least be told he's in the hospital or something.

Awesome. And yeah, I loved that level. Especially stopping the train just like in 2 (but smarter).

Really? I've been wondering where Peter's place was, where did you find it? There isn't a butler. To find it, look at your map where you see "Midtown East", and then go there. There's like this castle penthouse, and if when you go there, there are door that open on the building's pad. You can walk in and see Harry's living room, that it. But for the Goblin lair, when you're outside of the building, jump on it's roof and look all over the place until you see a square. Jump in the square and you're in his lair!! Seriously man, it was awesome. I coulsn't believe it was left open. If you need help just ask for it. And if you want to find the square on the building, swing high around the "Midtown East" area until you locate it.

Awesome. And yeah, I loved that level. Especially stopping the train just like in 2 (but smarter).

Yeah I found it so cool that we have to click certain bottons on the controller to get through the level. Spider-Man shooting his webs to many times to stop the train was a brilliant way to beat the level.

Wow. That sounds awesome. I've got to try that later. As for Pete's apartment, I only got to it during those two missions (final battle and Sandman I think). I think it's in Soho or something. I've gotta go give it another shot. And looks like I've gotta go looking for some other places as well.

Yeah, it was a cool find. Good luck trying to find it. :woot: I'll do the same for Peter's apartment. Thanks for the tip man.

Finally got my 8600GT and can fially play the next gen version of SM3. I will post my impressions after I mess with it for a bit

Found it! Smashed the mirror and found the lair! :D Expected a big ass creepy picture of Norman though. Cool find. Wonder what would have happened if I came here during story mode. I mean I did after all find a random gang safehouse and got into this whole cutscene with em with new dialogue.

Too bad you're not allowed back in Kingpin's place though. Was looking for the window I threw him out of.

Nothing happens in story mode when you find the lair. I just played the level with Harry, and swung all the way to his lair. He followed me, and when I went inside, he went inside too! We fought in there for a few minutes, it was cool. :woot:

Once you get to Peters apt, its not hard to get back.
First off, pull up your map, go to activites or something like that, locate RACE 4. Once you are on the building that has the RACE 4 icon, you are pretty much there. Peters apt is like 3 buildings to the east of the RACE 4 icon. Basically, if you are standing on the RACE 4 icon, looking towards the street, turn right and jump to like the second or third building(Peters apt and the building with the RACE 4 icon are connected). Hope that helps.

where exactly is harry's place

Its in Midtown East. The best i can tell you is to head to Midtown East and once you are in the area, pull up your map and try and locate it that way. It'll look alot different than the surrounding buildings. It'll almost look like a castle. You should immediately recognize it once you see it.

I love this game! Ive been playing it on my PC for most of the day and its so much fun. First off, this is SOOOOO much better than the craptastic PS2 edition. That one had horrible controls, sluggish, robotic movement and simplistic combos that were hard to connect. And the jumping was horrible as Spidey jumps way too high and that makes it hard to time movement. Not to mention the textures and graphics were bad and overall that game is a downgrade from SM2. Vicarious Visions should have never done this.

Thank god that Treyarch, who made the first 2 games, did this for the next gen systems. I knew this game was going to be good when I picked it up and the controls were actually fluid. You can create your own combos and the controls are responsive and smooth. Only complaint is that Spidey seems a bit slow and should be faster, but its nothing that affects gameplay. The swinging here is actually fun, but it was better in SM2 with the 2 handed swinging

One other thing I liked better in this game was how your moves are upgraded. In the PS2 version, you get hero points as you progress in the game and you can use that to buy different moves and skills, but here you upgrade automatically as you play. The more you wing, the higher your swing level gets and the more you fight, the more moves you will unlock. No buying involved. I liked that.

The graphics are obviously better on the PC than on the PS2. I thought the presentation was much better too. When you start, it goes straight into the game and no intro screen or menu. The pause menu looks really good and I love the layout and how everything is categorized and I love the stats that the game keeps here. None of this is present in the PS2 version and the start menu is lacking. I also think the way the missions are set up in hte PC version is much better. All you have to do is scroll through available missions on the map and it will direct you to where you have to go. Thats not in the PS2 version and all the map has is hte mission icon but doesnt tell you what it is and you cant just zero in on one to make navigating easier. Forget about hte extras, like the race missions and combat tours bc those dont show up on the map. Gotta find those yourself.

For $20, the PC version is a much better investment than going off and paying 40 for the PS2 one. Im glad that the PC got the 360 version this time and not some stupid kiddie version like with Spiderman 2. Overall this is a great Spidey title and Im enjoying it better than Spiderman 2

For those who watched Buffy, did this pic remind anyone else of season 4, Maggie Walsh and Adam from the initiative? Thats what came to mind throughout this scene

HA! That's funny because that is exactly what I did last night. :D I was so suprised he followed me in. I did not see that coming one bit. We fought in both the lair and the living room. He couldn't fit through the mirror opening so he flew around and threw the balcony door. Good stuff.

Also found Peter's place again. Been finding it easily now. Just wish there were more places to enter in the city. Also wish there were more regular cast members to interact with...And now I really wish that second Harry fight was in there. Man this game is awesome though.

I thought that too...I thought the doctor especially looked exactly like Maggie Walsh.
