I'm behind on my X-Men satellites. Has X-23 fought Daken yet?

Yes, in fact I'm pretty sure their whole encounter is collected in a single trade right now. Also, both are cancelled, with Daken's last issue coming out a couple weeks ago, and X-23 having only one or two issues left.

Here's one I was thinking about yesterday - has Doom's scarred face ever been shown to the reader? I know there have been times other characters have seen it but I can't recall a time we've seen his face other than when it was magically fixed.

it's been shown a couple times. But through rewrites and soft retcons, the amount of scarring/the reason for scarring has changed a bit.

There was one version (I think it was something that Byrne did) where the scar from his accident was quite small, but his vanity forced him to wear a mask. But he put on the mask before it had cooled completely from the forging, and that's what caused extensive burning.

That's the only version I've read, but I know that there are a few different ones out there.

For some reason, whenever somebody wanted a retcon or reboot in the 80s/early 90s, they went to John Byrne. It worked for Superman...not so much for Spider-Man.

And Superman is debatable.

But Spider-Man Chapter One isn't.

Chapter 1 sucked b***s. It served Marvel right for trying to recreate something DC did that was only decent to begin with.

really? Do you know when that was revealed? He wears a different costume in UXF, so I thought he changed clothes/masks. He's also been able to pull it back somewhat in some issues like below
