The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 2

It became the new Daily Bugle. When the Bugle was bought by Dexter Bennett, he turned it into The DB and it became more of a sleazy tabloid. That's when Urich and a few others left and started the Frontline. During a fight between Electro and Spidey, The DB building was destroyed and Bennett's legs were crushed by debris.

Mayor JJJ was able to cash in on some share's due to this and gave the money to Urich and Robbie Robertson on the condition they restart the Daily Bugle again. Unfortunately Pete doesn't work there because he's a disgraced photographer (if such a thing actually exists:o).

What did Pete do to disgrace himself?

He got busted doctoring a photo in order to exonerate JJJ who was being framed as having ties to the new Vulture. JJJ outed Pete at a press conference in order to save face as a public servant. Pete was blacklisted from any photographer jobs as a result.

Later, Marla Jameson felt bad for him and got him an interview at Horizon Labs, although he's on the cusp of screwing that up too.....

It's not so much his fault as it is his writers that live out their fantasies of s**t you shouldn't do at work and s**t you shouldn't do to women.:o

I don't think it unfortunate.
Peter Parker was overdue getting paid in a research center/Lab.
W/o having to scrabble for resources, I'm loving this freedom from a lot of the barrel bottom scrapings.

Yes I miss the old staff.
But not to the point of having peter go back to hand to mouth.

Why go to the Daily Bugle when you can clock in at the Baxter Building every day? I'll take the Future Foundation any day.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

thanks for the answer. I asked because I was finally reading through Brand New Day, and when Pete gets fired from the DB he couldn't find a job at another paper because Bennet basically blacklisted him. I was wondering why he never went to Urich at his paper. I bet he would've hired him.

Why the hell was Peter still working for the Bugle in the first place? Doesn't he have an advanced degree in some sort of scientific discipline, along with a door-opening friendship with the likes of Reed Richards?

An overrated concept. And in this case, highly unrealistic.

Yeah, and now I can't relate to him. I could probably take pictures of stuff, but I can't do science real good. How can I pretend that my life is just like Spider-Man's if he's got a science job and I can't do science good?

at least we can relate to his romantic life since he's not married now.

LOL

stop it.

Two questions:

1) Is the Cosmic Cube a recurring/prominent plot device in Captain America stories? It was the plot in the movie, and I see that it was the main running storyline in the beginning of Brubaker's run with Sharon or Cap saying "another Cosmic Cube".

2) In Thor how are the Nine Realms related to our galaxy? Are Asgard and Yodinhime (sp?) different planets people can travel to in a spaceship or is it more like another plane of existance? Is Midgard strictly Earth or does that include our whole galaxy and/or universe?

You better delete that post before Quesada or Brevoort see it and decide to f**k with Spidey again!!!!:argh:

1) Yes, the Cosmic Cube is a recurring plot point in Captain America's comics. The Red Skull often uses it against Cap, and most recently Cap himself used it to restore Bucky's memories when he was still brainwashed as the Winter Soldier.

2) The other realms' relation to Earth changed over time. Initially they were portrayed as magic places floating in space that one could fly to in a spaceship. An alien race called the Rigellians actually finds Asgard this way, and Thor and other gods were often portrayed sailing through space on magic ships that looked like old Viking longboats. Since the cosmic side of Marvel expanded around the '70s, however, the explanation switched over to Asgard, Jotunheim, and the other realms' being in their own pocket dimensions, connected to each other by interdimensional doorways and portals and such. Ever since that explanation was put in place, the Asgardians have made heavy use of interdimensional portals and stuff--Sif has an innate ability to teleport through dimensions and across space, Thor's hammer and other of the Asgardians' magic weapons can open portals through dimensions, Valkyrie stores her sword Dragonfang in a pocket dimension that she can access whenever she wants, etc.

I can't relate to people who sell their marriages to the devil.

So.... what is the Cosmic Cube? Just a source of unlimited power that can do anything or are there limits and boundaries?

So.....about Iron Man and Ms. Marvel. Have they f--ked?

Nope, but she recently had a fling with Spider-Man.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cosmic_Cube

Essentially, it's a sentient Dues Ex Machina created by AIM scientists. It takes a lot to power it up, and it basically grants the wish of whoever uses it. Essentially, it's a synthetic genie.

I have lots of married friends. I can still relate to those guys. If I had any friends who sold their marriages to the devil, I would have more trouble.

thanks. How recent? I know she went out on a date with him in her cancelled series. Have they been paired up in his?
