Is it true that back when Sam Raimi was still involved with the Spider-Man films, that he wanted to change Felicia Hardy/Black Cat into the Vulturess, daughter of the Vulture, just to avoid the inevitable Catwoman comparisons?

Yup, and Anne Hathaway was actually in agreement to play the part.

Hmm... well I think we can all agree that it's for the best that didn't happen.

And I'm sure Anne Hathaway will find being Catwoman in "The Dark Knight Rises" will be a better career move than playing a bastardized version of Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.

I don't think she needs the Catwoman role to make her career any better, she seems to be doing just fine regardless.

As far as Spidey 4, it was supposed to start a whole new Raimi trilogy. After the lackluster Spider-Man 3 when the news came out they were planning on doing 3 more, it was obvious it was never going to happen and if it did it was going to be s**t anyway. I don't mind the reboot, I plan on seeing it but they could have waited until the Avengers movies and sequels were done so the fans would be into it more.

Unfortunately Sony wouldn't wait that long or else they'd lose the film rights.

Still, probably better that the "Vulturess" didn't happen.

Or they coulda just used her as Raptor.

Blackie Drago's* Kid from the MC2 line.

*Vulture II

Or not used her at all. A poor showing is worse than no showing.

Eh, It's Spider-Man. I don't really care either way honestly. :o

What's up everyone? I'm new to the forums and today I decided that my love of CBMs and the MCU and recently made up my mind to pick back up comic books again just like when I was a wee lil Kidd. I grew up loving x-men so I did a lil catch up on wiki then I decided to take a trip down to my local comic shop.

I picked up a hardcover copy of Schism figuring it was a good place to jump back in with AvX round the comer (got AvX #0 too) I know I have a few X-titles to catch up on.

Being a die hard MCU guy I wanted to get me some Avengers action too and I wanted to know where a logical place to jump into to get me up to speed in the 616, any suggestions?

I wouldn't trust wiki :o Is there any point setting up a thread for the UK readers who read the collectors editions and are therefore almost 2 year behind our US cousins?

Ya I'm about 15 + years behind haha I do like the graphic novels though. I saw a hard back for the children's crusade at the shop today and I was told that's a pretty recent Avengers event so I think I will scoop that up next. Seems as good a place as any. :woot:

Children's Crusade is starting soon. I can't wait, I LOVE the Young Avengers.

Did Squirrel Girl ever have a thing with Wolverine? Or was it just brought up in the comics?

Later in Wolverine's book, Emma went into his mind and find a room filled with various women he's lusted after and she was one of them

How the hell old is Squirrel Girl that she knows Wolverine by the name "James"?

Well, he has sort of established a certain pattern. Shadowcat, Jubilee, X-23...

JUBILEE AND X-23??? But he's technically the latter's surrogate dad! :O

^^ I thought I saw Jessica Jones up there in that pic...wow...:/
