The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 3

Didn't people want him to, during Bendis' run? After DD beat the crap out of the Kingpin and Hell's Kitchen got really clean. People recognized how much Murdock's law practice had to do with it and were trying to get him to run for some sort of office.

It wasn't a big storyline or anything, but it was at least mentioned.

I hate Hero vs. Hero fights in general, because they almost always boil down to neither side even attempting to explain what's happening.
Thats why I don't like them either.

So I bought an issue of Wolverine and the X-Men and am now trying to redeem my free digital copy on marvel.com/redeem. After entering the code, I'm now at a page where I'm supposed to enter a "source"? What am I supposed to type in??? Help!

Do they have a FAQ on their page? I'm assuming that there's a field you have to type into, is there a little colored question mark icon next to it....like real teeny tiny? If so, clicking on that should tell you what the source is you need to enter, like a diagram or something...

Ok I looked at the FAQ and apparently I'm supposed to "provide the name of the store where you bought your print copy."

So I typed in the name of the comic book store I bought my comic and it still doesn't work. Anyone has any suggestions I can type in so I can just get this step over with?

Whenever I redeem my codes it automatically has the name of my LCS in the box. I guess if you want to try it go ahead: Bedrock City Comics.

Watch, now Javi's LCS gets some sweet variants for this one extra redemption that pushes them over the top. :woot:

I tried javi's suggestion but it still doesn't work... There's a dropdown menu but nothing is there. Sigh... I guess I'm never gonna redeem any digital comics!

Bedrock ftw. There are several people on here that go there. Which location do you go to?

Email them

Yeah I'll try emailing them (if I can find their stupid email address...)

But if I don't get my digital comics it doesn't really bother me. I buy DVDs with Digital Copies and can't get em either because it's not available in my country. Oh well.

Has there ever been a Ragnarok?

It happened at the end of Thor vol 2 in 2004 (Disassembled). That's why Thor was MIA until the JMS run.

Haven't there been several Ragnaroks? Like, it happens in cycles and the Norse gods are all reborn?

Yeah, bunch of em. Though the last one is supposed to be the last one, but I'm sure somebody will come up with a reason to do another. No new ideas and all that.

I can't remember when and what issues the others took place, can anybody help a brudda out?

There was a Ragnarok-ish situation in the issues leading up to and culminating in Thor vol. 1 #200. He actually fights the Midgard Serpent and Loki leads an army against Asgard, but it turns out to be a false Ragnarok.

There was another in the #270s of vol. 1. That's the one where Balder died and Odin manipulated Red Norvell into taking Thor's place to avert the prophecy about Thor's death in Ragnarok.

There was another fight between Thor and the Midgard Serpent around vol. 1 #380 and, I think, a couple issues before that. Thor's body dies but he transfers his mind to the Destroyer, revealing himself to be one of the very few who can consciously control the Destroyer armor (it turns just about everyone else into a raving, bloodthirsty maniac, including other gods like Balder and cosmic beings like the Designate).

The first mention of the gods' lives going in circles of death and rebirth was (to my knowledge, anyway) around vol. 1 #300, where the Eye of Odin told Thor a bunch of stories about his past lives. But the canonicity of that may be suspect because the Eye of Odin was a total dick.

I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting. Sorry about the haphazard numbers too. I don't have my Thor comics right in front of me for reference, so I'm just looking up covers online and trying to remember what happened in those issues.

Is that Astonishing Spiderman and Wolverine series still going?
