The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 3

Sales? Sure.

Will it be good though? That is always the question.

The internet will say no.
Everyone else will say yes.

Right, cuz everyone else is just the bestest judge of whats good. It's why Britney Spears is one of the greatest musicians evers, and Transformer's Dark of the Moon was just cinematic gold. :o

I have yet to see Dark of the Moon. The previous 2 were enough for me...:barf:

What are some good collected trades focusing on X-Men Havok and Polaris?

Here's one. In Astonishing X-Men after the awesome breakworld stories, they had something about ghost boxes and alternate realities breaking through to harvest everything usable. They killed off Forge due to him going totally bat**** and making mutant monster things and was overall a pretty lousy story.

They ever do anything about that story because I found that after the fun of Joss Whedon it was pretty stupid.

How much interaction have Cap and Havok had before Uncanny Avengers?

I believe the Cable story in Marvel NOW was the first time we've seen Forge since Ellis's Ghost Box arc. It seemed like he was snapping himself out of that psychosis that drove him to do all that crazy stuff.

So until further notice the Ghost Boxes stuff is filed under discontinuity?

They were probably in the same room during some of those Infinity crossovers.

How much interaction has Polaris had with her brother Quicksilver? I know they were on the same team together for years, but did they have any kind of a relationship?

^ Yeah, also my question. I wasn't even aware that there was a third Maximoff/Lensherr kid until fairly recently.

That's because her being a child of Mags has always been stupid, and has been thrown in and out of continuity at various writer's whims.

Not really. Her first story invovled her being presumed to be Magneto's daughter which was quickly debunked in the same story. No writer used it until Austen/Morrison retconned her into being his kid and its been canon since.

As for her and Quicksilver, he gets along with her and respects her. The only time they interacted on panel after the reveal was Uncanny X-men 442-443

Prior to this, they were both in Magneto: Dark Seduction

Tom Brevoort has been against Polaris being Magneto's daughter as he believes Lorna's parentage takes away from Wanda being Magneto's daughter or something like that.

Thats the reason there really isn't a huge amount of Dane/Maximoff/Lensherr family interaction.

Most the mutant families are messed up. The Maximoff/Lensherr, Summer/Greys, Darkhölme/Wagners,The Braddocks, Rasputins, St. Croixs, Cassidys, Guthries and Xavier/Haller/Markos are all nuts.

Which is funny bc they keep using Polaris as his daughter in alternate stuff, like HoM, New Exiles, the cartoons, etc...

It just goes to show that writers including many long time Avengers writers and Avengers and X-book writers like Bendis, Gage and others see the potental.

Truth. It's like the game of freaking thrones, but with mutants.
Since we're talking about this, another stupid question: Where's Rachel Grey from and where was she during AvX?

Rachel Grey is Cyclops and Phoenix's daughter from an alternate future. In Rachel's timeline, all mutants were either killed or rounded up and put into camps. The black marks on her face are tattoos that identify her as a "hound" who was forced to hunt down other mutants.

Also, her name is really Rachel Summers. She started using the name Grey after Scott & Emma started dating in the main timeline.

Someone else can handle the AvX question.

Rachel kicked Thor's azz. No really, and that was without the Phoenix Force to help her

But on a serious note, her main issue was WaTX 12, which centered around her. The same story was retold in Avengers 29, but from the Avengers perspective. She was apart of the JG staff during the arc although she along with Iceman and Angel broke off to join the main action as they didnt agree with Wolverine's decision to side with the Avengers. She sent them on a wild goose chase around the world when she gave them false coordinates of Hope's location. Meanwhile she managed to meet up with Hope and because of her past connection to the Phoenix, she urged Hope to go find it and force her own destiny with it. She also fought Xavier who tricked her bc he wanted to take her out, since she was an asset to Scott
