Like, a giant mythological sea beast? I'm pretty sure if it existed in Greek mythology, it exists in the Marvel universe.

I think there's also a HYDRA villain called Kraken from Secret Warriors.

Well, technically the Kraken is from Norse mythology since they were believed to dwell off the coasts of Norway and Greenland. It just seems like a natural monster to send up against Thor and/or Namor - along with kelpie.

Can somebody explain to me the ending to the first arc of New Avengers? The recent relaunch. I read it, but [blackout] it seemed to me like they destroyed the incurring planet in issue 6, but what Reed said at the very beginning of issue 7 sounds like they destroyed their original planet. [/blackout]

I'm pretty sure that out of all the times Namor summoned giant sea monsters one of them was a kraken. As per the wiki it says there's been a few Krakens but nothing really worth mentioning.

Nah, they destroyed the incursion planet. I don't remember what Reed said, but I don't remember questioning whether it was the incursion planet or "our" Earth, either. It was always the incursion planet in my mind.

Got 2 questions, 1) So how long is Hickman going to write Avengers? 2)Is Marvel Knights: Spider-Man(the new one) standalone and easy to pick-up for new readers and has Peter Parker(not Doc Ock in Peter's body) in it yes?

I think it's been said that Hickman has a 3-year plan and that Infinity is the close of his first year.

Was Ultimate Fantastic Four any good? Did they have any trades that particularly stood out?

Millar's run was pretty awesome.

Assuming you're not one of those snobs that hates Greg Land's "art".

Land's art was at its best in Ultimate FF. The combo of he and Millar was actually quite good. Ult FF 21-32 were probably the best issues in the series

The first couple trades were good but after the Zombies I found it started to go downhill. Ultimate Thanos was pretty disappointing but really, you can't compare a new guy like that to stand up to the original who's bigger deeds gaining ultimate power twice and becoming the universe.

I only read the first arc and liked it a great deal. I always considered going back to read more but never did. I dropped out of the Ultimate Universe around then and didn't really want to get pulled back in, though I do sometimes miss the Ultimate X-Men world (which I dropped during the Longshot arc by... I think Vaughn).

I read most of the UU up to the Death of Spider-Man. I read a bit after but lost interest. The U X-Men got out of hand and everything died in Ultimatum and then I just stopped caring besides the USM but after Peter died I just couldn't get into the new guy.

I'm currently reading through the Ultimate Xmen series for the first time. I just finished the 2nd or 3rd trade by BKV and I've really enjoyed it. I'm curious how I'll feel when I him Kirkman's run. I hear it's very divisive.

That depends entirely upon you.

I thought it sucked.

Kirkman was really a 50/50 shot. I personally didn't like it that much.

The End comics. Has anyone else been reading them over the years? They have quite a few out now.

Daredevil: End of Days
Marvel/Thanos: The End
Hulk
Wolverine
FF
Spider-man Reign
Among others.

Kirkman's Ultimate X-men run was the worst for that series. I thought his work was truly awful especially coming after the amazing run BKV had

My stupid question: Who is older, Magneto or Xavier?

They're probably close to the same age. My guess is that Magneto is no more than a few years older than Xavier.

So are there any Scott Lang Ant-Man trades or Avengers stories where he is a big focus?

Yeah, it's definitely Magneto, and probably by 10 years. Magneto was an adult when he and Magda escaped the camp in Auschwitz in the 1940's.

Charles was just about the right age to get drafted into the Korean War in the 1950's.
