I'm usually not into movie tie in comics, but was wondering if there was anything that dealt with War Machines whereabouts during the Avengers when the Chitauri attacked?

Nothing came of it. But I'm sure every Spidey fan secretly hopes that it one day is used to undo OMD. :o
That's probably outside of Loki's ability. I mean, straight-up reality manipulation is kind of a big deal for magic-users. You're probably talking more Odin than Loki for that.

Yea, according to TVTropes, a tie in comic mentioned that he was dealing with a Ten Rings terrorist attack in Hong Kong and was rallied for the invasion, but by the time he arrived, the group was eating Shwarma.

I'll be damned. Thanks :)

Loki could trick Odin into doing it. :o

I think Cable had it for a long while. Wasn't it the island he owned in Cable & Deadpool?

The ship itself was destroyed when it traveled through time taking baby Cable to the future. Cable took the ship's A.I. called it The Professor and has installed it into several different locations he's used as a base......Graymalkin, remains of Magneto's base Avalon, ect. So while the actual ship is gone, it's "spirit" lives on in other ways.

Thanks chaps

Ship rocked. Best supporting character from the original X-factor

I thought that Luke Cage promised his grandma to never swear, so thats why he says "Sweet Christmas", but I've seen him state @#!$. When did he give up "Sweet Christmans"?

Or was it just the lords name in vain? and not swearing period?

I was curious about that too. I got the vibe that when he got his modern reinvention with Bendis, the ban on swearing, the silk shirt, and hair went out the window.???

Yeah, Luke was one of Bendis' famous Improruin* characters.

He could do that. But that's a pretty big scheme for one measly favor.

Pfft, that's a Tuesday for Loki. :o

*To improve and ruin at the same time* :o

Its strange cause when I think Luke Cage, I can deal with no chain belt, yellow shirt, metal head band... But Sweat Christmas is such a defining feature to his character... Strange.

Bendis used Sweet Christmas here and there without overusing it to the point of making it corny. Sorry, but I've never taken Luke serious prior to his use in Alias and that was a big part of it. Bendis made him modern, and that's why he works as a character now.

There are aspects of characters that make them who they are, and then there are aspects that date them. "Sweet Christmas", the yellow shirt, and to a smaller degree the chains, were all things that were dated. Oh, and the afro. But Luke being from the street, focusing on personal issues, dealing with drugs and seeing kids grow up without drug dealers and other oppression, that's what makes Luke, Luke Cage. Bendis kept every bit of that and discarded the rest. I think it was Duane Turner who updated Luke in the 90s, and he did a good job of it, but I think Bendis did it better and it shows.

It was a smart move, built the character into the one he is today, and moved him forward into a fan favorite. I'm failing to see the criticism here.

I'm not criticizing him. I think Bendis did a great job with the character and made him better.
I'm just a bit confused, I agree with using "Sweet Christmas" less. But why tack on regular swearing on top of it at all? I just thought there may have been a on panel reasoning.

EDIT:
Thinking about it, I recall Bendis saying once he has a potty mouth, and often writes in swears, not thinking of it (a issue for the editors of Ultimate Spider-Man, since they didn't think Peter dropping Fbombs was appropriate).

Meh, character's catch-phrases are fun to me. I love it when Cage drops a "sweet Christmas!" or the previous Nova let a "blue blazes!" loose. Comics are supposed to be fun.

Hell yeah! It's Clobbering Time, Avengers Assemble.....you name it. Catch-phrases rule!

"By the bristling beard of Odin!" "By the hoary hosts of Hoggoth!" "Excelsior!" "Imperious Rex!" I love them all. :D

Thor is full of awesome catch-phrases. Usually I picture Ron Burgundy saying them when I'm reading a Thor comic.

I have a really hard time not slipping into the super-goofy voice actor from the first Ultimate Alliance game when Thor uses his catch-phrases. I try not to but it just happens.

"[Insert Bad guy] We would have words with thee".

"FOOOOOOOOOR MIGDAAAAAARD!" /EMH's voice actor

freakin' love catch phrases. :hrt:
