The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 6

BTW, Does anyone know of a person in the Marvel Universe who can psychically make anyone say whatever the person wants them to say?

Any decent telepath or similar power set can. Look at the first X-Men movie where Xavier took over Toad and Sabretooth. There's a few other people who can sort of insert themselves into a person and control them but that usually leaves them vulnerable.

Usually when taking over the mind they can control the body as well, like making them move or walk to certain places or attack people.

So, how exactly can Bullseye throw things with lethal force is it magic? Does he have enhanced arm strength or is he just that good?

Natural talent. He's had his body enhanced to make him harder to hurt at various points (adamantium strips on his skeleton) but other than that, pure skill. Same with Boomerang but at a much higher level.

Well thats highly badass. Thanks for explaining it.

Is there anyone that can give a definitive history of wolverine and sabretooth's relationship with each other? As a long time fan I still have trouble piecing that together and what the cause of their hatred is.

Is Psylocke the weakest telepath among the x folks?

So I was reading Injustice and noticed flash eating a bag of chips. Now of course it crossed my mind that he can eat as much as he wants and burn it off by running, or just standing there and vibrating. But here's where the stupid question comes in, how come he doesn't loose a chunk of his weight when he running, like become incredibly skinny?

Every telepath varies depending on the writer and they all have various high points for bits and pieces. I guess Moonstar if she has her powers since she can only project fear or something.

Speed Force. It uses an other dimensional energy for the speed so it doesn't use calories or anything. Apparently the only energy use it similar to just running around on a lower scale. That's why they get tired. If they book it to light speed they're exhausted but just doing laps around New York is fine since it's like a light jog.

I forgot who told me; it was somebody here, that the Flash originally thinking that his speed was dependent on his metabolism was erroneous. The speed force makes him run fast, regardless of what/how much he eats.

But he still burns energy and needs to eat a lot, right?

.

I'd agree with this. Psylocke is far from the weakest telepath. When she started, that was her only mutant power so she's highly skilled with it. Some people may tend to forget that her psychic knife is a telepathy, but it is and is quite powerful and effective at taking out her opponents. I actually dont know what her levels are now bc I havent read her in a while but she is a fighter and tends to focus more on her TK and ninja skills. She's no slouch in the TP department. I mean she took out Shadow King by herself and he's arguably one of the most powerful telepathic villians

Maybe like a marathon runner eats but not insane amounts of food. Just a bunch to replace energy that would get used if you were running around all day working out. His body can metabolize food crazy quick too so anything he eats can replace it fast enough but if he eats too much it's just like anyone else.

Back when Wally took over after the COIE then he thought he needed tons of food to fuel his power but they told him it was just a mental thing and got him sorted out fairly quick. Until then you'd see him eat a dizen candy bars or finish off a buffet while doing his running around.

Does anyone know of one who can manipulate traveling powers?

EDIT: As in manipulating how one travels?

Elaboate further please.

Manipulating how one travels, as in, flying, teleportation, walking, running, alter the speed and direction and maybe change one's destination, or where they stop. I know it sounds crazy, but I'd still like to know.

Well they had one mutant that could literally hop inside you and boost whatever powers you had. Appropriately enough he went by Boost.

The Flashes could speed up or slow down people and things or change their momentum by absorbing and redirecting it. Well Wally could anyway not sure about the others.

It's complicated, really really complicated. Especially since they were going to be father and son for a while then brothers then just jerk that know each other.

Here's Sabretooths history.

Here's Wolverines.

It should fill help quite a bit.

But if you want to go by Leob's jackassy retconning, Wolverine and Sabretooth hate each other because Logan is brunet and Victor is blond. Seriously. Thats all there is to it in Loeb's version of their origins and history.

He wrote that Wolverine and Sabretooh are descendant from Homo Lupus, a mutant subspecies of...well, Mutants, and all the blonds just instinctively hate all the non-blonds of this shared species.

He also wrote Red Hulk punching a Watcher and usurping Silver Surfer's powers :awesome:

I ignore whatever I don't like in the 'official' canon. That includes garbage like Red Hulk, that BS with the Lupus people and most of the events that change everything until it gets retconned back to what it was.

And Sentry in his entirety. :o

Come on now. Jenkins' original Sentry story was fantastic. That can still be canon. It wasn't until Bendis brought him back that his character took a dive (though I still kinda liked him even then).

He came back to hang out with the Apocalypse twins or did you mean other than that?

Other than that, for the love of Pete. I'm one of the few people who hated the last Uncanny Avengers book.
