Rotten Tomatoes does matter. It made me decide not to see this movie in theaters. Of course the movie could be great imo, but more likely it wont be worth of the ticket. I can use that money somewhere else. I'll watch the movie someday on Netflix or something.

Absolutely. I was extremely hyped for this film. But now I'm not going to see it at the cinema. I had plans to go see it this weekend too. Only one of my friends is now going to see it at the flicks and that's only because he pre booked his tickets.

I'll just wait for a decent copy to leak online and watch that.

I've seen it hit various news sites now. If people don't bother looking at RT for scores to know this is getting panned there, they certainly will know when this embarrassment goes viral.

I definitely think RT matters, but it matters differently from person to person, movie to movie. To say RT doesn't matter in the assemblage of things that drives interest in a movie is absurd. But there are other factors.

Personally, this reaction doesn't change my plans to see it or the expectation that I will like it.

I'd consider myself to be a superhero fan, but I'm actually not very interested in a movie with bad guys as main characters.

Why wouldn't you make your own mind about it? I am pretty sure there are plenty of movies with rotten rating which you saw at the cinema not caring about it too much. But suddenly, people are losing their ***** over a RT rating.

Exactly right ive actually changed my mind i wont be seing this in theater ill wait till theres a good copy online or just wait till it shows up on cable or what not. Im sure im not the only one either these ratings do influence especially with ticket prices as high as they have ever been.

I wont be watching an illegal copy on line as I have issues with piracy so I'll be going the cinema to watch it upon which I will formulate my own opinion (as opposed to being influenced by others). Yes, that means handing over money but thats the risk you take - there's never a guarantee that you'll like a movie.You win some and you lose some.

Well, I'm glad you live in an area where cinema tickets cost a mere $10. It's not about not valuing my opinion, it's about not wasting my time and money.

Movie tickets aren't cheap.
For a pair of tickets are in the UK, depending on if they're 3D or not, it can set you back 20-30 quid easily (50 bucks). If you bring kids or anyone else it gets even higher price.

This is why reviews can matter. If most people really don't seem to like it much, why gamble the money.
