In Park City with his new film, The Off Hours, Scoot McNairy, the breakout star of Monsters, sat down to chat to Total Film about the impact Gareth Edwards' film has had on his career.
"[Monsters has] opened up a lot of doors for me. I just got an offer yesterday that was probably the biggest offer of my life..." he told us.
Though he was grinning like a Cheshire cat about this mystery offer, McNairy refused to be drawn on details - even with TF making guesses about it involving superhero costumes.
"It's a good one!" his publicist added, "but if he tells you he'll have to kill you."
Could it be Superman? "You'll read it in the trades in a few weeks," he shrugged, "it'll be a big annoucement."
We are officially excited. What news could be bigger than Zack Snyder revealing his new Clark Kent?
Cast your mind back to Monsters and chuck a pair of black rimmed glasses on McNairy's photo-journalist... have Nolan and Snyder found the 'relative unknown' they have been looking for... watch this space.
Is Scoot the next Superman? Or have we missed the mark? Let us know...
