Not to mention they are going with someone between the ages of 27-32, right? Isn't Joe M. 32 years of age? There's another fitted description.
Fact of the matter is, NOONE has a freakin' clue who's going to be the next Superman. For all we know, it could be someone from complete left field. Joe M. seems to be a hot-topic right now and has been before. Until he's out of the running and when that fact is confirmed, then we'd all move onto the next candidate. Until then, anyone is fair game.
As for the Ledger reference, sheildshero, stop trying to validate and justify your argument into swaying the conversation into your favor. With your logic, it would be "okay" for Joe M. to be a "gangster, a *****ebag, and a thug" ONLY if he had 15 films before the Superman role and has been had a leading role as well. So, it was great that Ledger played a homosexual only because he had film-experience, but it's not okay for Joe to play Superman because he is a lesser unknown and played a "thug" role in his career before.
Makes no logical sense to me. Instead of making up insane excuses, just say you point blank don't like Joe M for Supes
