great trailer boywonder, i really can´t wait to see this, i can´t understand how this priceless footage was archieved for so many years, it´s like a whole new christopher reeve Superman film. Only one question (sorry if it has been asked before): Are we getting an entire new open credits sequence or it´s gonna be the same of the Lester´s movie?

Sorry...should've made it clearer. When I said consistient w/ Superman Returns, I meant in the sense that it would look similar to the homage SR made to the original opening credits of Superman: The Movie.

In its simplest form: The Donner Cut of Superman II will have the starfield opening of S:TM.

Are you sure? 'Cause the recap was supposed to be in the movie even from the earliest drafts.

The BBFC have listed the Donner scenes NOT in the final cut but will be available in the supplementary section:

00:01:44:19 ("LEX'S GETAWAY") - Either we haven't seen this or it's Lex negotiating with Superman before being carted away.

the opening 10 minutes was shown at comiccon and the credits are just like STM. Chris get first biling this time, and all the other credits are the same except for Cinematographers (two now) and Directed by Richard Donner.

If it doesn't have the recap, it's fine with me. Specifically because I, and all of us know what has happened beforehand. And this cut is mainly directed towards us fans of Donner. And if someone hasn't seen S1, they should watch that first.

I have to say that the cover art for "Superman II: The Donner Cut" is just fugly. I liked the original art featured in the trailer for the DVD set, this art has the wrong font and the tone of Superman is supposed to be light and fun, not dark and somber like Batman.

The back cover by comparison actually looks quite good, and it's great to know that the Donner cut will have a Dolby Digital 5.1 track like the first film and the Lester version of "Superman II".

Oh, buggs0268, will the main title sequence have new Oxford Scientific footage (different space background) or will it be the exact same title sequence for the first movie, with the credits changed? I'm also wondering if the WB opening logo will be the recent one or the same one for "Superman"...

There´s nothing wrong with the image they used but they could have done more with it. Its too simple imo, especially with all the white style-less letters...
