Looks a little like John Cumberland aka The High from Wildstorm.

They should really play up the "Jimmy Olsen in drag" concept and do a few Jimmy Olsen/Batwoman team-ups. Think about it. Kate and Batwoman need to be in the same place at the same time...and Jimmy Olsen needs to stand in for Batwoman. I'd buy the hell out of that.

Oh my gosh i love this idea

It has my two favouritest things in comic books ever. Batwoman and Jimmy Olsen in drag :atp:

I'mma be really dissapointed if he does not gain his super powers by getting high

Grant Morrison had an idea to tribute the Golden Age Superman, looks like we're getting that with Action Comics #1!

Oh God.... the storm is coming..... I can feel it. :csad:

Nah people love Morrison here, you can just see them fangasming over the small cape and going "it's just like in the old comics, i love Morrison!" However if it was some other creative team, you might see a storm. ^^;

Whats up with all the red! So many characters are sporting red eyes or there is just red in everything.

Superman having red eyes in covers has been for the last 6 years or more the way to give him this badass edge, kinda like Superman: Earth One cover or one of the Jim Lee Superman covers.

Action Comics...#1? I know they'll re-title it before or when it hits 1000, but come on.

Welcome to two weeks ago. :o

Morrison did add, however, he hopes to write a series of one-shot in All Star Superman specials one day as his schedule permits. “As I was working on the book, a bunch of other ideas came to mind and one was an idea for an All Star Superman/Batman book. So that was one of the stories, a thing called ‘Son of Superman.’ It was a kind of take on the Super Sons idea from the 1970s, which I really liked. So I wanted to do that one. And there is another one set in the far, far future with the Superman Squad. So they were stories that were more tangential to Superman.
“And I wanted to do a story of Superman’s first year in Metropolis when he wasn’t so powerful and he was a bit more of a liberal activist. And to do that kind of Superman, the big heavy guy who can only pick up trucks and be killed by an exploding shell, you can kind of do that as the first year and see the differences between that guy and the incredibly powerful, self-assured man-god in the main All Star Superman book. So those are the three stories I came up with and as I say, they were slightly off the main storyline but related to it so I hope to do those when the current workload eases up because as I say I could just keep doing that Superman stuff forever.”

It really seems Morrison is now doing his early years Superman work, and all of Morrison's work is more or less connected whenever it had a fancy imprint or not.

This might actually be the highest selling book of the relaunch, higher than Lee/Johns' Justice League.

Have we actually seen Superman's new costume yet? I thought the only picture of it we had so far was that Jim Lee JLA pic, where half of it is obscured...

Nah, we've seen it, I'll see if I can find the link.

This is stupid.

You're an idiot.

Well people do seem to treat Morrison like a god around here.

Well people do seem to treat Morrison like a god around here.

Many people here praise morrison because they... find the things he does to praiseworthy. Much as other people here, including myself, criticize Morrison, because they find the things he does deserving of criticism. Often these are even the same person, as they find some things Morrison does to be praiseworthy, while finding other things he does to be derserving of criticism.

All of this is very simple, and has less than nothing to do with Draz's SHH fanfiction.

*brain fart*

I just realized the reason theres no JSA comic is that they're making Superman the 1st hero again, see thats gonna make Kurowasa and the Batman happy. :p It's not fan fiction, you're just in denial! <3

Very good move if they do this. Good for Superman most importantly, because he should be the very first superhero, and good for the JSA because if they come after him, then they are not tied to WW II and are not 90 years old.

If this reboot was done the way I'd like to see, then both Superman and Batman would have been founding JSA members and Wonder Woman would have been the first female JSA member, followed by Hawkgirl and then Black Canary. There would only need to be one Black Canary as well if they did this.

So the big three could have been in the JSA like 20 years ago, the JSA could have been forced to retire somehow 10 years ago, Barry Allen could be the new Flash a few years later, and the JLA could be formed with the new generation of heroes and the trinity. Eventually the JSA can come out of retirement and team up with the JLA.

pfft, I'd rather just go back to JSA having it's own universe.

That would make sense but it looks like there will be no JSA comic books after Flashpoint

Action Comics...#1? I know they'll re-title it before or when it hits 1000, but come on.

Every comic is relaunching with a new issue one even the Dark Knight which had only published two issues :ninja:

Honestly, I like the actual art on the cover of Action Comics #1 but....i dont think it's THE right cover for ACTION COMICS #1 you know? FOr a monumental issue like that, i would think you'd have a huge splash shot of Superman flying in the sky with the american flag in the background or something iconic like that. This cover seems like it should be for issue #2 or #3. It just seems a little dark for the first issue. I dunno, what do i know?

rags morales is a hell of a great artist. the cover is clearly well drawn. but yeah, totally not the right cover for this issue.

Well, I am pretty excited about this, but I have to admit, I am a little bit disappointed that it sounds like this will be vastly different from All Star Superman (If this is ultimately the direction Morrison is running with for this). I'm sure it'll be good, though, either way, and we haven't really seen a 'tribute' or anything to that age in Superman in a long time far as I'm aware.

Though, with all good news I guess there has to be a bit of a dark lining, since it seems like Cornell is off the Superman books. I like and respect Perez, but I'd trade him for Cornell pretty quickly in this particular situation. Oh well.

But at least we are getting Cornell writing Stormwatch and Demon Knights which both look pretty fun

Well, I agree about Demon Knights. Stormwatch could go either way, though.
