I'll throw my 2 cents in and say that Frank Quitely should be counted among the best to have worked in the medium

Kirby's art was great for his day but I live in the now and no body is better than Jim Lee.

Even in the now nobody surpasses Jack Kirby. You know, considering how he was the guy who created Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, the biggest characters that Marvel has to offer and the New Gods, which is one of the most ambitious projects that DC has ever taken on while having Darkseid be DC's biggest villain.

Quiely's comics is ****. It's so terrible to me. I hate it so much. I want to throw up every time I see his drawings. His drawings are not art. Their just terrible drawings.

You is crazy, no one sets out an action scene like Quitely

Seriously I rather look at Liefield than Quitely. At least Liefield doesn't look like he made his art on acid. Frank is trash just like where his art should be.

I like Quitely's work pretty well. He has a nice soft line. I think his Superman is a little too big and too Jethro looking, although not as bad as Tim Sale's version. He's a solid storyteller too.

But seriously, Morrison and Quitely are my favorite team. If you don't like him, that's fine. Quite frankly, that's more Frank Quitely for me.

I love Tim Sale but I agree I can't stand his Superman. Also, Quitely is one of the best artist working today.

Lol I love Morrison. Whenever Quitely working with him, I just try to tune it out cause Grant is awesome.

There is something that needs to be in the trash around here. Hint: It ain't Frank's art.

I kind of agree with this. Kirby was very good back in the day, and is still considered as "the king" just because people can not see beyond this. I like Kirby's art, and I think it is like Hergé, someone you can always learn from, any time, any place, any comic. But I think Curt Swan or Neal Adams or Joe Kubert or Todd McFarlane or Jim Lee are definitely excellent, and could be named "King" for this era.
He was a King for an era. He is certainly not "the King" for me, just an excellent creative penciller.
And come on, Kirby "created" all those Marvel characters does not mean he was a genius for being responsible of all the great things that happened then. It is a collective work.

About Quitely's art, I hate it except when he worked with Morrison. The art in All star Superman is one of the best and subtle work I have ever seen.

I think Kirby is almost definitely one of the greatest comic book artists

I think artists like JH Williams III Nicola Scott and Amanda Connor are also some of the best there are.

Jim Lee is okay too. Not one of my favourites but his work definitely is not bad

I see what you did there :ninja:

JH Williams run on Batwoman is like pure eye candy. So beautiful. Incredible art.

It is my favouritest comic book ever :hrt:

I cannot wait for the Batwoman ongoing comic book written by him with him doing the art as well. It is going to be amazing :atp:

I really dug that Chase series he worked on too

I've been reading Hayden Blackman's Darth Vader mini series, and that's pretty good, so there's another plus

Jim lee's art is entirely mediocre. His chacter designs have little diversity, his costume designs are ugly, his sequential storytelling is formulated and boring, and his hyper idealized anatomy is uninspired. He tries to hide all of these shortcomings with flashy line work to distract the viewer. He does good backgrounds though, and has some solid pin ups.

Sure is loads of ****** opinions in here today.

I can't imagine how anybody can call Quitely trash. Sure, his faces may get squished sometimes and people come out little lumpy (I think somebody around the SHH calls them "hamburger faces"), but the way he incorporates the "sound effects" into his work is nothing short of brilliant. Very much reminds me of Eisner.
