Did anyone pick up Action Comics #901 this week? It was an okay issue.

I thought it was pretty neat was pretty happy with the way Cornell wrote Superman in this issue and I'm interested to find out who or what this new villain is

Superstar comics creators Geoff Johns and Jim Lee say they are bringing bombshell announcements about the future of Superman and the entire DC Universe to the Hero Complex Film Festival on June 11.

Ive been guessing on what the annoucemet could be-well I came up with the following possibilities.
1.Superman gets a Kid(YES!)
2.Superman gets a divorce.(GOD NO!)
3.Timeskip in DC universe.
4.Some MOS news
5. Upcomin Superman animated movie/series(I hope one based on Golden age)
6.Goyer starts writin Superman comics
7.New writers for the Super series.
8.Superman stops being Superman.
9.Superman starts acting like the Golden age self
10.JLA movie is going ahead.(HELL NO!)
11.JLA move is going ahead and is based off smallville.(LAKE OF FIRE NO!)
12.A live action tv series on Golden age Superman.
13.Lois lane dies.

I dont think they are announcing anything comics-wise...they are at a film festival

Because the only thing announced at Comic-con is comic related. It's payback time! >: )

Has it ever been implied that kryptonite has something to do with Kryptonian abilities? For years, it's been used in one way or another as a source of someone's powers. The precursor to kryptonite, k-metal actually gives humans Kryptonian powers, and kryptonite itself is Metallo's power source, gave Kryptonite Man and Conduit kryptonite-based powers, gave the Russian Zod Kryptonian powers but only under a red sun, and of course caused several characters in Smallville to develop a variety of superpowers.

No Kryptonite doesn't have anything to do with Kryptonian powers.

You have to admit, there's sortof an implied connection though. Why would kryptonite give someone kryptonian powers (Russian Zod) of all things? Why didn't he just become another Conduit/Kryptonite Man? It makes me think that there's something about Krypton that was inherited in kryptonite that might have evolved Kryptonians into superpowered beings.

It's been ages since i sat down and read those comic book issues with the Russian Zod was it really just ordinary Kryptonite that gave him his powers

I believe he gained his powers in about the same way as Kenny Braverman/Conduit. There was a chunk of green kryptonite stuck in Kal-El's ship as it came to earth, and it flew past a space station with Russian Zod's Cosmonaut parents on board. His mother was pregnant at the time and they were all exposed to the radiation. I believe it killed his parents, and Zod himself had health problems throughout most of his life, similar to Kenny.

Kryptonite is sort of like magic in the dcu i suppose

It can do anything

Grant Morrison will be the writer of the Superman relaunch.

Ah Franken showing his bad taste not having any love for more Batman such as Batwoman title, more Peter J Tomasi and whatnot. >: ) :P

Now I never said that! I'm just hoping that those things will still exist come September :(

So...much...uncertainty. I'm sick of DC's reboots, but Morrison wrote the best story about Clark I've read. And Supes is short on writers who truly get him.

Ehhh...I'll check it out.

In light of this news every single god damn change they make with Flashpoint is worth it.

morrison on superman is amazing. but you dont need to reboot a universe to do that. and it'd be selfish of me to say its worth it.

Like the idea of Morrison on Superman but hate the costume and although the current DCU is a total failure, the reboot might not be any better.

I wish they'd just have Kal wake up in his apartment at 344 Clinton Street thinking, "What a terrible dream!", then he could go to work at WGBS.

Morrison doesn't COMPLETELY get Superman, mostly because he grew up in the time of Byrne's imposter character, but he's by far the closest there is in comics to a real Superman writer. But some of his comments about Superman as compared to Batman shows he really doesn't understand Superman either. But maybe with this reboot, we will get a Superman who is actually the greatest superhero of all time as he should be.

Considering Grant Morrison's age and his more recent runs, I think it's more likely that he grew up on Silver and Bronze Age Superman comics as opposed to the Byrne Era Superman comics. Hell, his modern work such as Final Crisis, All Star Superman, Batman, Batman, Incorporated, etc. are essentially his love letters to the Silver and Bronze Ages.

Also, while there are a lot of things wrong with post-Crisis Superman, there are a lot of things done very well with the post-Crisis era Superman such as his marriage to Lois Lane, the use of his parents, Clark Kent being the real person, etc.

Morrison written Superman ongoing? Morrison?Superman? ONGOING? this is the greatest thing to happen to comics since......EVER!!!!

:awesome: :awesome: :awesome:
