Im going to say it looks like Humberto Ramos just to be different.

Am I the only one getting a Gary Frank vibe? Without the Reeve nostalgia?

Yes, actually. When I first saw it, I thought it was Gary Frank (who is among my favorite artists). I'm really looking forward to this! The art really looks like it will be a treat! How long will Morales and Morrison be on the title? I'm hoping longer than the first story arc!

from Gail Simone's twitter:

"Holy PANTS. I just read Grant Morrison's Action #1. This is a Superman I have been waiting to read for YEARS. Good GOD. This is not hype. Action #1 hits like a punch in the gut. I'm stunned. Action #1 made me want to smash my head against the wall. It's that awesome."

Well after spending months walking the earth, anything will be more like Superman then grounded was.

I am now even more convinced that Morrison's Action Comics is going to be fabulous

I don't think any mere 20 pages could blow my mind that much.

yeah, I'll take that with a healthy dose of salt. She works for DC, and I'm sure they frown upon their employees NOT spouting praise like that.

meh, I think he's over-rated. I don't doubt that he's able to tell a good Superman beginning story, but I do doubt that he can provide much that I haven't seen in the 4 different origin stories I've already read.

Good, because I lied. It's actually 30, then 29 from then on.

Oh, so we'll have nothing but disappointments after the first issue?

Thanks forgetting our hopes up, Gail.

I'm sure it'll be good, but I'm also inclined to take Simone's word with a grain of salt. It seems everyone's been waiting years to read a different Superman, depending entirely on whom you ask. Simone's ideal Supes might not be is probably not mine.

Awwwwww :csad:

I hope you do like it Corp

I'm pretty sure that Simone's ideal Superman comic book is probably my ideal Superman comic book too

I'm pretty sure Morrison's ideal superman comic is THE ideal Superman comic.

I think so

After reading All Star Superman I'm pretty sure he is the perfect writer for the series

Dang, I was planning to make a clean break from all of DC with the 52 #1s, but...maybe I should take a look...

right now, I'm more concerned about how the Super characters will be characterized moreso than how they are drawn......

as long as Kara's still hot, though........

Don't get me wrong, overall I think it'll be pretty damn good.

From what we've heard, I dont like all of the finer details of this new origin, but with the way Grant writes, I'm sure the characterization will be spot on, and he'll probably even make the sketchier plot elements work too.

Simone has been pretty critical of DC several times. As a matter in fact with the New 52 reboot, Simone has openly expressed her frustration that she did not know about DC's intentions to publish a Suicide Squad book, something that they knew she really loves and would jump at the chance to do.
