That actually made me cry. It's lovely :)

Thanks for posting that Keyser

haha did you guys hear about that shop that's banning all Morrison books because Superman says "GD" when he got hit with the train?

BTW this shop sells Preacher.

:lmao:

Given that I doubt anyone as stupid as this guy knows how to read how will he tell which comic books are by Morrison

ENUFF WITH RED GLOWING EYES!!

IT'S TIRED!!

It was like every panel had his eyes glowing red!

:( :hrt:

Haha, wow.

Thanks cliche` stone-throwing Christian man! I didn't even know what "GD" meant till now! Now I'm going to use it all the time! :woot:

Is Superman even a Christian? I know he was raised by farmers, but his biological dad was a scientist, so I'm betting...not.

Pretty sure that Superman is aware that all sorts of religious and mythological entities actually exist in the DCU, so whether he's a traditional Christian or not, he at least believes in God and stuff. You might be hard pressed not to believe in God if you spent time hanging out with the Spectre.

I doubt Superman is particularly religious. He probably believes in an afterlife with what he has seen but I don't think he is part of any one particular religion

Superman was actually Methodist in the pre-Flashpoint DC Universe. I'm serious.

^Seriously? O.O

Was Action Comics good? I'm thinking about ordering it.

Yeah, Superman did have an established religion pre-Flashpoint. The Kents raised Clark as a Methodist and Martha was a devout Methodist who would take Clark to church when he was a child.

He ended up more like Jonathan Kent, in being far less active with the Methodist Church, but he at least still believes in it. Not only that but hanging out with entities such as the Spectre and Phantom Stranger would probably affirm his belief in the Judeo-Christian God even more.

He also showed signs of believing in Kryptonian religion as well. And considering how the Greco-Roman, Egyptian, Norse, Hindu, and various space gods exist, Superman probably easily believed that Kryptonian deities exist as well.

Overall, Superman is technically a Methodist who most likely had a hybrid belief in Methodism and the Kryptonian Religious Guild.

And Morrison's ending for Superman is that Superman actually becomes "Rao" the Kryptonian Sun God and lives happily ever after with Lois Lane in New Krypton with Jor-El also alive.

That is a happy ending. :)

If I lived in the DCU I'd worship the Greek gods.

Because then I might get a super powered clay daughter out of the deal and I think being the mother of a superhero would be pretty neat

grant morrison explained it to be a grunt or him breathing through his teeth and the guy apologized and lifted the boycott

Did anyone say anything about the "real" Superman and what he has to do with that picture?

don't you know.......Red Glowing Eyes = Teh Badazz........

readers find that cool and more relatable........:o

The real Superman said goodbye in 1986. He's only occasionally stopped by since then.

well, technically, there is no such thing as "real" Superman......

the only "real" version of a character is the one that appeals to you......

so far, what I've read in Action Comics #1 ( and I did pick it up to give it a chance ).......I'm not too keen on this version of Superman.......

It's funny.....yet sad at the same time........

bye bye old Superman..........:csad:

Well, the the term "old Superman" could be used to describe more than one characterisation.

The real version of Superman is the one by Siegel and Shuster. It my not be your favorite, as evidenced by your disliking Action #1 which is pretty close, but of course the original version of something is always the "real" version.

that may be true......

but I think we all gravitate towards or identify with a particular version of a character, or a particular story, or artist's style of drawing of that character....

and that becomes "our version" of that character..........

so, naturally, we'll tend to like interpretations that are closer to "our version" of that character....

and maybe that's a better word to use than "real."

and, for the record, I don't dislike or hate Action Comics #1. I just wasn't blown away or impressed by it.

I was like......."Ok. This is interesting and I'll see where it goes."
